Question about 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis

Can't find power steering reservoir

I just picked up a 1992 grand marquis and am not sure where the power steering reservoir is located. I see a square reservoir but it does not have a stick in it, only a fill line, located to the right of the engine. It seems to be low, steering is hard at slow turns. Can you help me? Thank you.

It should be on the left side of the engine.

On a 96 grand marquis ,where is the octane adjusting bar - dtc p1390

Look under the hood on the driver\'s side, just in front of the power steering reservoir. You should see a small pigtail coming out of the wiring harness that looks like this.

Remove the shunt connector from the wire. This is an octane adjusting plug that will retard the timing by 3 degrees and may solve your problem.

Why is my steering wheel loose? Does not turn well with tires and theirs a knocking sound whenever I turn the wheel.

I would not recommend driving this until it gets checked out, based on what you're saying.
That vehicle should have power steering. Check to make sure it has sufficient power steering fluid in the reservoir.
If there's a knocking sound when you turn, it could be a problem within either the steering mechanism or any number of things that warrant getting checked out.
It's not fun going down the road in a vehicle that size, and having your steering go out completely on you.

How do I replace the Airconditioning/power steering belt on a Grand marquis, Mercury(1992)? please show me in a diagram or print somehow

Move the Grand Marquis's serpentine belt tensioner off the serpentine belt with the serpentine belt tool. Pull the belt of the remaining pulleys by hand. Take the belt out of the engine well. Wrap the new belt around the bottom portion of the crankshaft pulley. Follow the belt routing diagram to route the belt over each remaining pulley until only the tensioner remains. Move the Grand Marquis's serpentine belt tensioner aside once more and slip the belt onto the tensioner pulley.Hold the belt in place with one hand while you move the tensioner slowly back into position with the other. I am looking for the location of a fuse box on 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. Where is it located?

There are 2 fuse blocks in a 2000 Grand marquis, One is under the dashboard on the drivers side. There is a panel that you have to remove that is just below the steering column. The other is under the hood on the Passenger side of the car, pretty close to the Coolant overflow reservoir. The functions of all those fuses are in a diagram located in your service manual. If you need a picture, let me know, i have an 01 grand marquis and have had to replace fuses in both blocks. Hope this helps.

Lost owner manual for 92 Buick Regal custom-power steering fluid

The reservoir should be located under the hood on the passenger side, above serpentine belt. Guide your eyes backwards towards the mid section of the engine on the passenger side. the small reservoir will have a small turn cap on top. (passenger side off vehicle)

1993 mercury grand marquis washers not working

It is located in the bottom of the washer reservoir. The only way to get it from Ford is with the reservoir. Not sure if one of the aftermarket parts company like NAPA may carry a replacement pump.
