Question about 1992 Isuzu Trooper

Little explotions in exauhst

I just bought this 92 isuzu trooper single cam engine, is has 150.000, i got it really cheap cause it needs some work. I used to have this acelerations problem only on 2nd gear , so i changed sparkplugs and wires and i solved it , buy now im having this kind of little explotions in exauhst, i was told this is timming problem (out of time) ...dont really know.
Engine its really clean, this problem happens when im under maybe 35 mph , when i go over it seems to be fine , (sometimes wont).
I ll apreciate some advices , what should i try???
Tx.

Burned exhaust valve possibly or you could have it wired wrong. Timing also could be an issue. I know this doesn't help you much but a compression check will tell you if it is a valve.

Also a bad sparkplug wire could possibly cause this it they breakdown under a load.

Firing order 1994 iszuzu trooper 3,2 sohc

its a V6
Order: 1-2-3-4-5-6 Distributorless Ignition System
outside usa , ive not a clue.
and i bet you are.

3,2, tells me (not USA) comma for decimals.was the clue.

EFI systems vary world wide)
the firing order on ours is per above, im not sure how many 3.2v6 are made world wide, with different crank /cams.
seems there are 3 if you read the wiki......

there is a gm v6 LG6 is 3.1L and isuzu v6 (x2) 3.2L
the real Isuzu is called 6VD1 engine
later years GM 4.3L
my guess is 6VD1 or W

and 6VD1W. twin cam. introduced in 1996 on troopers.

76 degree V 6's
per the wiki
The feature either a belt-driven SOHC or DOHC valvetrain. Later versions feature direct ignition as well as gasoline direct injection. These engines are notable for their early adoption of gasoline direct injection technology and also for their uncommon 75° cylinder head bank angle.

before i work on and engine i learn what is there first.
as you can see wide variances there are.
post country first. then if single or twin cams.

but the firing order is dictated by cam and crank geometries.

Isuzu V6 sparkplug firing order

gee guy, 3.1L or 3.2L?
you only need 3 things to time the distrib. static.
where is #1, its the most forward cylinder, LOOK carefully.
forward means closest to the cam drive end of engine.
not flywheel end.
rotor rotation direction (crank and watch it)
now the order, 3.2l v6? IS It? the single cam?
1990 trooper v6
answering for only USA car...
our 3.2 has no distrib V6 its DIS.

3.1L V6 USA spec. only. rotor is CCW

My 2000 isuzu trooper seems to use oil a little, I've checked the antifreeze-nothing,spark plugs look fine, and no smoke out the back....I can't figure out were the oil goes... Any ideas I would appreciate...

How much is a little oil? 1 quart(US) in 5000 miles is reasonable oil consumption. If you don't have any major leaks, the oil is going out the exhaust pipe. As the engine wears the piston rings dont seal as well as they used too and the oil gets burned in the combustion process. You didnt mention how many miles you have on the vehicle, An engine with 150,000-175,000 is going to burn a little oil..

I need a diagram to sincronize the timing belt of my isuzu tropper 3.2 sohc

if this is 6VD1 engine it has single cam gear each head, but is still a 2 cams per head, engine
if belt has broke or you have turned any gear you must remove rocker covers to check positions of camshafts front lobes are in certain spot as well as timming mark on belt driven cam gear to cover
this cam gear is a 3:1 ratio (3 turns of cam gear = 1 turn of cams)

Distributor cap compatability

your caps should be fine between a 90 and 91 one thing you should also check is that the kanooder valve on a 90 is different from one on the 91 these would not be compatable they redid the duflage sensor plug that goes from the kanooder valve to the wiring harness. you might need a kanooder valve mod kit these are really cheap you can grab one from checker for about 20 bucks well worth it trust me.
