Reset Service record after servicing peugeot 406 1999
I want to service my car and then reset the counter on the dash so it stops indicating that my car needs to be serviced. I have heard I do this by doing something to the windscreen wipers. Please can you advise.

Hi there all u need to do is hold on reset button just under mileage clock with the ignition off,then switch on ignition to second turn and you will see mileage clock count down from 10 but keep button held in untill countdown finishes and thats it.

on the dash indicators you have 2 butons. one from mileage counter, and one in left for seting time. To reset the servie interval switch the ignition off, press the button from milleage counter and keep it pressed while you turn to right the left button from time setting, while is displayed on the diplay:"service - - -" This is all
Vehicles on longlife service intervals must have the service interval indicator reset using suitable diagnostic equipment. Vehicles on fixed interval servicing can be reset as follows: Press and hold button [A] 84764. Switch ignition ON. The words "SERVICE" or "SERVICE IN xxxx MI" will appear in the trip recorder display. Release button [A]. Press button [B] to reset the display. The words "SERVICE IN 10 000 MI" will appear in the trip recorder display. Switch ignition OFF.

Within the first 4 seconds after moving the start switch to position 2,
press the reset button for the trip counter twice within one second.
The display for the service request is activated for about 10 seconds.
Within these 10 seconds, move the start switch into position "0". The service request continues to be displayed.
Press the reset button for trip counter and keep it pressed.
Move the start switch into position "2".
Continue to hold the reset button for the trip counter pressed until
the signal sounds and the new start distance appears in the display (it
takes about 10 seconds).
Turn the ignition off Press and hold the milometer push button (the button for reset the miles mostly the right hand push button on the dash) Turn on the ignition (do not start the car!) Wait for the display countdown to reach 0 Release the milometer push button Turn the ignition off. Turn the ignition on and check that the correct mileage till the next service is displayed
Your dealer will reset the display
after completing the required

‘‘OIL LIFE 100 %’’ on the odometer/
trip meter display the next time you
turn the ignition switch to the ON
If maintenance service is done by
someone other than your dealer,
reset the maintenance minder as
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON
2. Press the Select/Reset knob until
the engine oil life indicator is
3. Press the Select/Reset knob for
more than 10 seconds. The engine
oil life indicator and the
maintenance item code(s) will
4. Press the Select/Reset knob for
more than 5 seconds. The
maintenance items code(s) will
disappear, and the engine oil life
will reset to ‘‘100.’’

done but do not reset the display, or

service, the system will not show the
proper maintenance intervals. This

have an accurate record of when

Note: the Service Reminder Indicator displays 3 messages: OEL, IN 01, and IN 02. These display to alert the driver to follow the items listed under the manufacturer's service interval.To reset the message displays, turn the ignition switch on. Press and hold the odometer reset button "A" located below the speedometer. Turn off the ignition while holding the button. "OEL" will display on the indicator. Press and hold the lower digital clock reset button "B" until five dashes appear in the display. If needed, press the odometer reset button until "IN 01" appears and then press the clock reset button until five dashes appear. If needed, press the odometer reset button until "IN 02" is displayed and then press the clock reset button until five dashes appear.To exit reset mode, turn the ignition switch on and when "IN 01" appears, turn the ignition switch off
