Question about 1997 Nissan.5 Altima

1997 Nissan Altima dies after it starts when put into Reverse

When I first go out to start up my 1997 Nissan Altima and put it into Reverse or 1st gear it wants to die, and sometimes does.  The first 2 miles this car run rough, however, then it stops and the problem doesn't show again until the next morning.  The dealership said they "think" its my transmission, however, my neighbor heard what it is doing and said no way is it the transmission.   The transmission does not slip or act funny at all.  This is an issue that started a few months ago and the dealership doesn't know what the problem is - does anyone know anything about this out there?  Thank you!

I was told that it needed to be fixed, however, the NISSAN dealership told me it was  a 600 - $1,000 fix.  This is AFTER I left the car with them for four days and all of their guess work.  The ended up flushing my transmission fluid "hoping" that would fix the problem and breaking my window switch on the driver side.  It was the worst NISSAN dealership in both service & customer service I have been to and its really left a bad taste with them.  What can I expect to pay to have this done?  Thank you.

2004 Nissan Altima 3.5L BATTERY LIGHT went on during 15 minute drive. Next day car "died" while idling after a 20 minute drive. BRAKE WARNING LIGHT & BATTERY LIGHT on prior to full electrical failure.

Start with checking the alternator voltage with a multimeter. With the car off check the voltage in the battery which should be holding 12v charged less if flat of course then start the car and test the battery again. If the alternator is good you should be getting a reading of 14 to 14.5 v if it's the alternator it'll A) not put any charge into the battery or B) be a very low voltage being anything under 13.5 v

A TPS will not cause a no start,so the 1st thing u do here is stop guessing and do the proper tests, the 1st test to do is check for fuel pressure, your discription sounds like a failed fuel pump, get a can of spray starting fluid from the auto parts store and spray that into the intake air pipe to the engine, if it starts and stalls right away then u have a fuel pressure issue most likely due to a defective in tank fuel pump, next have the OBD 2 electronic engine control system tested for fault codes, u will need to buy a fault code reader, the connector that it plugs into is right in front of the steering wheel under the das, the code readers are about $40 from Kragen or Autozone parts stores, let me know what happens.

Rough idle, dies when trying to give it gas

it'll either be your ignition system (spark plugs, distributor cap, etc) or more likely your fuel system (most likely your fuel pump or your fuel filter)

Audi a4 transmision

1st thing to do is have the electronics of the trans tested for trouble codes, this can be a electronic failure or a hard part failure, the trouble code test is where u start to decide the plan of attack, the dealer is the best place to have these tests run.
