Hi jock ,try earthing the pump body to the chassis, or check with volt meter check voltage between pump body to tank and tank to chassis both readings should be 0.5v max any more and you have a earth return fault. Good hunting , Pat

Installed new fuel pump in 98 chrysler town and contry lxi gas gauge was working perfect now ga gauge is not working and I keep hearing a dinking sound as if door is open but no door is ...

Hi,
Your sending unit on fuel pump is faulty, wired incorrectly or installed improperly. Dinking is probably low fuel warning from instrument cluster. Check wiring from fuel sender with ohms meter to ground. Make sure you have a good connection at the tank coupler/splice. Test from wire there at tank. Should get increased ohms reading as level is dropped. Shake vehicle/tank to make level vary from fuel sloshing around. If the reading fluctuates, may be bad connection to wiring harness. If not, its faulty. Take pump/sender out and get new one on warranty from parts store......Mike

Fuel pump not coming on,installed new one, white plug that has a yellow wire has 5 volts and ground is ok the 2 wires in the center shows 0

The plug you are referring to is probably the fuel tank pressure sender not the fuel pump. It would be plugged into a black sensor about 2 inches long pushed into a rubber grommet on the fuel bung. The fuel pump connector would have more that 2 wires going to it. most likely a heavy purple wire would be the power to the pump. It has to have 12 volts to it to work. The sender may have 3 wires, 5 volts, ground, and sense. the pump connector would have 12 volts, ground and 5 volts for the fuel gauge sender down in the tank.
If the 12 volts is not there, check the fuel pump relay. it is usually up on the drivers side firewall.
With the key in the on position without starting the engine, you should have 12 volts to the pump for 3 seconds then it will click off. Without cranking the engine you should be able to locate the relay by the clicking sound.
There is also the obvious, like checking the fuel pump fuse.

Where do you find the fuel pump for a 98 oldsmobile intrigue and how do you change it.

you dont have to remove the tank, pull down your rear seats and lift up the carpet, you will see 7 nuts, remove them and you will have instant access to the fuel pump.

Low Fuel Pressure on Landrover Freelander TD4

From 53 reg onwards, diesel pump is under R.H. rear wheel arch, hidden by the plastic wheel arch liner. Older versions have combined fuel pump/sender in the tank (under R.H part of rear seat).
You should be able to hear a faint purr from the pump when ignition is turned on but engine not yet running.

Fuel Gauge always shows empty

see if there is any acces to the fuel tank cover under the rear seat, if it is then remove the screws and remove the sending unit sending unit inside the tank most likelly it will be bad, but if you don't feel like doing it, then take it to your mechanic but seems to be the sending unit inside the tank wich is the sensor trigering your gage is not good and need to be tested and replaced
