That's great, Alan, good to hear. Guess you don't need an answer for that! Maybe it will help others looking for a solution to their problem.

Restricted perfomance dash message

this warning can be flagged by lots of reasons you really need to get the fault codes out of the engine control module but the common causes i have found after working on these cars for a few years are air leaks after the mass air flow sensor, sticking throttle butterfly in the throttle body, the throttle itself, lamda sensors, and knock sensors, and because the temp gauge does not give you a true temp reading the engine could be overheating the clue to that is the rad fan always running

Engine fault light

post DTC codes.
all of them.
lamdas only work right if all is ok with injection.
(check fuel pressure first. then for injector leaks or clogs)

Intermitent lose of power ( as if starved of fuel) Have changed Lamda sensor?

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM
One last comment, defective Oxygen sensors will not cause a loss of power, NEVER, they are just reading a symptom of the problem, they are not the problem, 35 years of experience tells me that.

I have both a P1111 and P1646, what are these and how do you fix them

You can check out all fault codes at http://www.bluejag.co.uk

looks like faulty Lamda sensor.

Fault Code:- P1646 Indicates a Power-train fault

The fault is generally due to a problem in the Computer & Output Circuit area

Fault Description: ECM HO2 Sensor control malfunction -bank 1 upstream (1/1)

Action of ECM:- ECM Default:- HO1S 1/1 control circuit inhibited

After clearing the DTC, complete the Drive vehicle for 10 minutes
Check for a reoccurrence of fault DTC.

Possible Fault:- HO2 Sensor 1/1 heater failure HO2 Sensor 1/1 sensing circuit: short circuit to ground, short circuit to high voltage, open circuit ECM Failure
