I have a MK4 golf which went in for repair work and now the radio wont come on. I guess it was because it was laid up for a while or they disconnected the battery. It hasn't been replaced so dont think it needs a code.
What is the sequence of buttons to get the radio to come back on please?

What colour is this light.
The Golf mk4 sdi certainly should have brake pad wear sensors front and
rear and the light on dash for this is orange with a similar symbol to
what you describe.
The ABS light is orange with ABS printed on it

You need a man with a laptop and software to check which codes have ben lost or corrupted
hi thier you must use this door a lot i guess maybe you have a kiddie in the back on this side of the car.? i think you have broken wires in that door if you look in the rubber boot which joins the door to the car you will see the wires broken join them up and it should all work again make you sure you join the right wires i hope that help you . graham the auto electrician
