If you know who the selling dealer(original) is you can call them and give them the VIN to the car. They can then look up the unlock code which is entered through the front of the radio using the station preset numbers. If you do not know the selling dealer you will need the serial # off the back of the radio. With that # you can call any dealer and they can get the unlock code for you in minutes through the internet. Some dealers will make you come in and pay to retrieve the code but most will not make you do that anymore. You can also look all around the car for a small sticker that many dealers affix to door jams, decklid covers, inside of gloveboxs or even the owners manual with the unlock code printed on it. If you have the code all you have to do is turn the radio on and enter the code. It will automatically unlock itself once the code is recognized.

Good luck.

Assuming it's a stock stereo ,now all you need to do is contact the dealership.
I bought a car that had one of those systems installed once and thats how I got it to work after I changed the battery.

Can I retrieve the radio code with the Odyssey vin number? The code is not in the glove. I do not have the manual.

No, the stereo unlock code cannot be retrieved with the VIN.

You can get the unlock code for free from any Honda Dealer. You will need to give them the stereo serial number from the back of the stereo or written on a card (or possibly the manual) provided when the vehicle was new. If the dealer removes the stereo to retrieve the serial number they will charge around $100.

DANGER: Do not try to enter the code randomly! The stereo will lock out after 10 incorrect attempts.

Code for radio/cd honda civic 2003

Try to locate the unique code number that will unlock the theft-protected audio system on your 2003 Honda Civic. It probably was imprinted on an anti-theft identification card that you should have received when you acquired the car. The code was printed on a document that came with your owner's manual packet

If you do not have the code, you will need to track down the audio system's serial number. In the case of the 2003 Honda Civic, finding the serial number may require seeking assistance from a Honda dealer. The dealer should be able to determine the audio system's special code number so you can reset the radio. With some newer Honda Civic models, the serial number can be retrieved electronically from the radio.

If you are able to locate the serial number of your 2003 Honda Civic's audio system without a dealer's assistance, you can obtain the special code by going online to the Honda Web site. You must first provide specific information to prove you own the car. For instance, you will need the Civic's vehicle identification number, or VIN, and the audio system's serial number.

When you know what the audio system's special code number is, use the preset buttons on the car radio to punch in the digits. This should reset the audio system, enabling you to resume using the radio and the CD player.

Can I know the radio code for a honda civic lx 2003

yes you can . first you must have access to the serial number on the radio, which usually requires removing it from the vehicle. when you have the serial number than you can call a Honda dealer near you and give them the serial number and tell them you need the code. this should work for most japanese made vehicles. german made cars require the vehicle vin # instead. hope i was of some help to you.

Stereo Code

if you look in your glove box in the owners manual under the stereo section there might be a car or a piece of paper with the stereo code information on it. If not you can call your local honda dealer and give them your vin/serial number and they can look it up on there computers and tell you what it is.
