The clicking noise that indicates if the turn signal or hazard lights has a mind of its own. It goes off randomly, sometimes at twice the speed as if a bulb is burnt. None of the lights go on, only the clicking noise. The clicking comes from behind the hazard button. Is this something i can just disconnect?

Here is what the service manual says. Looks like it is not a flasher relay but a function of the body control module.
TURN SIGNAL AND HAZARD WARNING LAMP SYSTEMSystem Description OUTLINE Turn signal lamp and the hazard warning lamp is controlled by combination switch reading function and the flasher control function of BCM.
TURN SIGNAL LAMP OPERATION - BCM detects the combination switch condition by the combination switch reading function. - BCM supplies voltage to the right (left) turn signal lamp circuit when the ignition switch is turned ON and the turn signal switch is in the right (left) position. BCM blinks the turn signal lamp.
HAZARD WARNING LAMP OPERATION BCM supplies voltage to both turn signal lamp circuit when the hazard switch is turned ON. BCM blinks the hazard warning lamp.
TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR LAMP AND TURN SIGNAL SOUND OPERATION - BCM transmits the turn indicator signal to the combination meter with CAN communication while the turn signal lamp and the hazard warning lamp are operating. - Combination meter outputs the turn signal sound with the integrated buzzer while blinking the turn signal indicator lamp according to the turn indicator signal.
HIGH FLASHER OPERATION (FAIL-SAFE) - BCM detects the turn signal lamp circuit status by the terminal current value. - BCM increases the turn signal lamp blinking speed if the bulb or harness open is detected with the turn signal lamp operating. NOTE: The blinking speed is normal while operating the hazard warning lamp.
If the 15A HAZARD fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box is OK, power is getting to the hazard function of the flasher unit. Pressing the hzard switch should cause the hazard lights to flash. HOWEVER, there is an electronic time and warning indication system module connected to to the hazard switch lead and that may be affecting things. If the 10A TURN fuse is OK, power is applied to the turn switch (with the engine in START or RUN) and you state you can select a right or left turn. HOWEVER, the RED/WHT and RED/BLU outputs from the flasher unit connect directly to the front and rear turn lamps and the instrument cluster turn indicators so you are not getting any flasher output. Again, that electronic time & warning indication system module could be affecting things
Most likely the cause of your problem is a flasher module. Usually it is found in the fuse box under the dash. But it can be on the back of the turning signal switch. If you are unsure, contact the service department of your manufacturer and ask them the location of the module. They will know immediately.
The easiest possible solution to both of your problems would be to replace the signal/flasher relay in the fuse box- usually under $15.00. This should resolve the problem if it doesn't I advise having a mechanic trace down the short which mah lie in a circuit board.
