Put the key in the driver's door (from the outside), and unlock the door. That resets the security system.
or  If it is a factory (OEM)security system. Go to passenger door and lock/unlock 2 times to clear/reset fact security system. If your battery is weak or toast you need to replace or problem will continue .
or if you r trying to lock after changing the battery this is the system connect the battery, put your key in the drivers side door, lock then unlock. That's it.
or if you want to get the system disabled this is the system You are supposed to be able to use the key, in the side door, however, I have found many times it gets reset and work properly.

Hi,

Initially assuming that it is a factory installed alarm/security and not an aftermarket, a few ideas you can explore/try:

  • To my knowledge, factory alarm could be set and reset in two ways;
  • using the remote and with a key;
  • with no remote or when the battery goes dead, the alram could be reset by unlocking the drivers door or tailgate with the key, that will reset the alarm;
  • To set again the alarm, lock the doors using the lock/unlock button on the drivers door.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

    Additional ideas:

    • Try opening the drivers door and locking and unlocking the door with the key while door stays open. This has been known to reset the alarm in most models;

    • On the ignition switch, leave the key in the on position for about 10 minutes without starting it to reset it;

    • An excerpt from here that addresses your concern. "if one door works and the other does not the disarm switch in the door that did not will need to be replaced if both doors and the lift gate do not disarm the alarm, the next step to disarm the alarm is to momentarily by pass the disarm switch, to do this remove the drivers door panel now look up into the door at the rear where the lock cylinder comes into the door you should see a switch clipped to the back of the cylinder follow the wires from this switch down to where they plug into the door harness unplug this connector, now with the keys out of the ignition jump the two terminals in the door harness side together for a split second, then try and start the car, if it runs the disarm switches will need to be replaced ,if not try the by pass on the other side,( if you lock the doors with the remote or electric switch after the bypass it will reset the alarm and you will have to bypass again, these disarm switches do go bad allot, if neither switch will by pass inspect the door to body jumper harness and inspect for brakes or melting if found the door jumper harness will need to be repaired, Also be sure to check all fuses in the fuse box and in the under hood power distribution center. Also the alarm module is located behind the glove box,you will need to remove the dash pad to remove the glove box if you need to get to the module ,pin number 4 a violet wire with a yellow tracer is the disarm sense for the system it should be a red colored connector, with the module plugged in back probe this pin and momentarily ground it, this should also disarm the system for you, to get the box out and get to the back of it is a very involved process;

    • Additional information on the repair of the alarm system maybe found here.

You have to replace the battery, if the battery was fully charged the every thing will work fine. try to re-charge the battery, it will last some more time but ultimately u have to replace it.
