T he valves in the head .you will have to take rocker cover off and reset valve clearances. If you havnt done this before a mechanic is your best bet or some body you trust who knows what to do as getting it wrong is not an option.Sorry didnt answer sooner ,just woken up.To check put engine at TDCentre, take rocker cover off and use feeler gauge and insert between the top off the valve stem and the rocker that pushes on top of the valve. As a rough guide you should be able to insert a 10,000 gauge between the inlet valve/rocker and 12,000 between the exhaust valve and rocker Easier to do this with all the plugs out, makes it easier to turn engine over by hand.

MY CAR SHAKES WHEN IM AT A STOP LIGHT

Check for a misfiring cylinder (does it lack power and shake when take off?). Also check the motor mounts, but this is usually more of a thud when accelerating.

My Chrysler 300m is vibrating (minor shaking because it's more than a vibrate) when i'm idling and drinking gas like crazy. About 8-9 months ago the timming belt went out and I got it and the water pump...

Please use a different shop in the future. The fact is if that timing belt broke while the motor was running you most definitely bent a valve or two if not all of them. The 300M didn't use no contact or lock up valves which would have locked them up out of the way when the belt broke. The mechanic that did the repair should have had the head pressure tested and inspected all of the valves. It is possible the problem you are having is a few valves not operating properly however a more likely source is going to be a Crank position sensor or Cam position sensor that is damaged or the internal anti-knock assembly isn't in time with the rest of the motor. There is a slim possibility that when he did the repair he removed the motor and then failed to get it positioned correctly in the motor mounts or possibly didn't get the base cross connecting plate put up correctly as far as being tightened and torqued in. Do a compression check and leak down test on the cylinders to make sure you don't have a leaking valve then start looking at the other items. I seriously recommend you use a different shop than the one that did the timing belt because at this point there should be no question about the valves or rings in that motor. Since the motor was opened up they should have replaced the rings and checked the valves before they ever put it back together.

My 01 e250 4.2 keeps shutting off when i stop at the light, it starts shaking and than it shuts off,it only happens when im in DRIVE but not in moviment.i just changed all 4 o2 sensors and i put brand new...

sounds like it could be an IAC motor on or about the throttle body. If you have a check engine light on, get the codes pulled. If its an idle air control code its probably the IAC motor ( idle air control valve). Or a trans code, and then I suggest taking it to a trans shop.

The check engine light came on last night. I started the car this morning and the cara was shaking really bad from the engine and the engine is very quiet but the whole car has a shake or little knock to...

Could be a broken motor mount. Not uncommon to break one. However, for it to shake badly you may have just broken a second motor mount.

If the service center is close by, I would likely take the chance and drive it. I just wouldn't accelerate hard - and I would be very gentle. That is just my opinion - can't be "for sure" without knowing more.

Good luck.

Toyota vits 2005 shaking engine

Very possibly you have a bad motor mount. Is the engine missing or running smooth but shaky? If it is missing, then it may be plugs, wires, or injectors, if runs fine but shaky, then you may have a bad motor mount.

Rough idling in motor when in park or stoped in drive

hi guys
I have all of you guys problems for roughly a year and half. Last week i decided to solve the problems. 1st i did all the electrical check (spark plugs and coil packs) it was find. 2nd i did the fuel injections (it may be bad and stuck at open) it was good. 3rd i did the compression check and the #6 cylinder was bad, it only got 60psi instead of 180. Finally i removed the valve cover and found the problem, the INTAKE VALVE SPRING BROKE. The reason why the truck was still able to drive with all of you guys problems is that the valve spring broke at the bottom (1st loop from the bottom). Even though the spring broke it was still strong enough to create some compression pressure in term no engine light.
