Toyoto corolla 95 trunk latch broken

I have 95 toyoto corolla, its broken trunk latch.. and i want to teplace it... i need advice totake any extra care for to replace by my self... and wher i can get parts and how much cost it would be... cani get parts from Canadian tire? or only from toyoto delar?

Check for parts on google. the latch can be opened from the insde f the boot if its closed and wont open.joe

trunk release cable is broken part id not expensivebut trunk has to be ooen ti install. can you lower the rear seatback and pop trunk from there

I think that is a electric switch at the latch on the trunk lid. The latch could be brokne of a wire is broken.

How to open a broken trunk on a 1992 toyota carolla? if i use the key to open the trunk it wont open. If I use the latch, it will not open.


remove rear seat(bottom first) flashlight. yank on cable at latch. . if cable brocken at latch, use small screwdriver to pry GENTLY. may help to have buddy push down on truck to reduce pressure

2003 Toyota Corolla. Trunk won't stay closed. Latch seems to work fine.


must have a broken spring in the latch tha'ts how it works a spring keeps the locking teeth together.replace the latch.

Accessing trunk through back seat


remove the buttom where u seat -then look
under the buttom of the back side for 2
fastners and remove them , then push up and lift out of the way u are there

1997 Toyota Corolla Trunk Release not working...


The trunk release cable runs along the inside edge of the car, under the carpet, on the driver side. It then snakes up over the metal under the rear seat, and then into the trunk, running along the trunk hinge/arm, driver's side. You will need to remove the rear seat bottonm and the seat back, and pull the carpet back on the driver's side to see the cable... More below:
-------> Before you do all of that, unbolt the latch handle and see if the plastic tab on the latch that holds the cable is broken; the cable release wires rarely fail, I replace handle assemblies regularly, never a cable.
