Intermittent Starting Issues with 2003 Acura MDX

I am having an intermittent problem starting my car. It will make the turning over sound (no signs of strain) and then not start. I then will wait a few seconds and then try again and it starts with no problem. This has happened only about 2 times in the past 14 months or so. Other times that I start the car, there is no problem whatsoever. About 5 months ago, the starter was replaced as it was starting to go. Somebody told me that my problem might be that I try and start the car too quickly after putting in the key. They told me that once I put the key in and turn it to position one, I should wait a few seconds while the car's computer does its self diagnostics. I did read something about this in the manual, but it didn't say anything about the car not starting if I don't wait. Thanks for your help.

No, it's not a diesel. The person who told me to wait, said that it would take a few seconds to have the computer run its diagnostic checks and that if I tried to start it early, it woud not start up, or it would think that the key was not the correct(microchipped) key and reject it.

I had the same problem with my 03 X over the course of a couple years. Finally the vehicle would not start at all. Diagnosis? Replaced the fuel pump and have had no problems since.

the com should pick up the key code straight away . if it keeps happening there is a sensor in the pump that can give a problem and if its intermittent it may not show up on diagnostics. i had this problem and the garage charged me 800 euro twice even though i told them about the pump then i had to got another pump and get it fitted which is too big a job for me. but having said that some can be done from the outside most toyotas. hope this helps

its really easey to remove the dvd unit under the pasenger seat. just put the seat all the way forward and pull the plastic guard from the seat track (pull straight back) then unplug the harness connectors in the back of the unit.
Then put the seat all the way back and remove the 1o mm nuts on the side brackets of the unit and pull it forward.

Doesn't stay cold or the blower stops working? Blower motors are a common failure, the brushes just wear out. Hit it when it isn't working, if it works, it is bad. The transistors also fail. If it gets warm, Check the relays for the compressor 1st. If the compressor isn't coming on, swap it's relay with another identical 1 in the relay box. The compressor clutch coils also get weak with age. Make sure both fans come on with the A/C.

2003 Grand Cherokee diesel - intermittent starting issues when the front of the jeep is elevated. Turns over but often wont fire for four or five attempts, occasionally will not fire at all the starts...

As when front elevated, possible small leak on fuel pipe, check connections, air getting in fuel runs back to tank, so when starting, has to pull fuel back up before starting
