Question about 1997 Chevrolet Malibu
OK the problem is the air duct blend door is either stuck or the more likely the motor that operates it is defective, in order to replace/repair this door or it's actuator the dash assembly must be removed, there is no other way to get access to the defective part. The blend door is what diverts air between the heater core and the AC evaporator core, for either cold, hot, or a mix or blend, hence the name blend door.
