Question about 1997 Toyota RAV4

When I drive my car It goes like my tyre is flat stop go stop go

Hello,
I bought 1997 Toyota Camry 170000 miles on It was running fine.As a routine I was driving and take an exit from high way(speed 15 miles per hour) the car is little hard to go further it moves but looks like some body is pushing back.I thought my tyre is flat but every thing was ok.I towed my car to mechanic he said your transmission need to be replaced ,we will replace with some old one. When I told to repair he said its costly and we will buy used and put in to your car with 90 days warranty he said we don't do repair.
Is my transmission is really gone?
Regards
Anil Kumar

I would get a second opinion at another transmission shop. If the transmission has not been serviced properly I wouldn't be surprised that it is having problems.

1997 Toyota Camry, when coming to a stop i feel a slight movement in the brake pedal at the end, i have had the brakes checked and was told that the pads rotors, and calipers are fine, also the ABS light...

There is a possibility that the rotors are warped and need either turned or need new ones. If ABS is acting up it could effect the pedal movement too but usually more drastic movement. Only other way to know is have a good mechanic run the scanner checking brakes on the run.

Transmission for a 1997 Toyota Camry V6XLE 148,000 miles

Your tranny has died.

More likely the pump in the tranny is bad, but it will take a rebuild to fix the problem sorry to say.

1997 Toyota Camry engine problem, what could it be?

Could be MAJOR.

The clunking as you describe it could be you lost a main bearing or rod bearing.

Either way ya look at it, with that many miles and a "clunk"...its going to cost a good bit to get it fixed, or replace the motor.

Oil light in 1999 Toyota camry comes on when idling.

bad to worn out oil pump or excessive oil passage clearances that allowing more oil to pass thru them at a lower pressure due to the bigger opening. It can be a sign of an emminant engine failure due to oil starvation.

1997 Toyota Camry with second round of engine sludge

The best way to solve the sludge problem is to drive the car! If you drive a few miles then shut it off that advances sludge issues. Make sure you get it fully warmed up. Toyota sent me the notice on the sludge issue in 1998. I have 327,000 miles on my Camry now. When I drive it I get it fully warmed up, and most days I put on at least 20 miles. I change oil every 4-5000 miles. These are great cars.
I never changed any of the common parts that fail on most American cars before 100,00 miles. Such as O2 sensors, alternator, starter, cv joints, all original still.
