Go HERE. You'll have to remove the accessory drive (serpentine) belt first. It's not too big of a job. Less than an hour.

On our 2003 Tahoe there is a pump like squeak, umm, almost like bed springs when... Um, nevermind, when the ac power is on. Everything is working ok but sure is irritating. Seems to be getting louder.

If it is worse when reving the engine in park, your AC compressor is failing (common problem). The AC compressor, orifice tube, accumulator, belt tensioner and AC belt will need to be replaced and the AC system flushed before recharging.

I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe. We have had to replace

Sorry to tell you this but if they used a recon compressor it could be bad!! Go and get the system checked to see if you have a leak that happens also and has the same affect. Good luck.

I have a 2002 chevy Tahoe that the AC Comp. went out. My mechanic and I replaced the comp, orifice, expansion valve and accumulator and it has worked excelent for about a week. Now the belt tensioner is...

I have the same problem and was told that there was a glitch in the compressors from this era> approx 50 % had this problem have changed tensioners and everything only to have same problem of transmission lines chaffing the belt until it breaks. Was told there is a kit you can buy to fix for about $400 otherwise I continue to replace belts. We did put less freaon it it to minimum pressure which did help the cause but will still viberate raiator lines in some cases.

Where is the belt tensioner on a 2001 chevy tahoe

You need to remove the front belt first. Take the tension off the belt by putting a socket or wrench on the tensioner and pivot it away. I would make a quick sketch of the belt route if you don't have a diagram. The AC compressor tensioner is on the bottom and the belt comes off the same way. Installation is the reverse.

02 chevrolet tahoe ac went out after the belts smoked, the ac still works and no engine problems, just no cold ais

If the air isnt cold, the A/C Is not working. Have the belt and tensioner checked, going the the a/c compressor.

2002 Chevy Tahoe sputters and stalls out while driving.....

Fuel filter. Timing/timing chain. Idle air control valve. Idle sensor. Vacuum leak. Probably one of the above, but the filter is cheapest place to start. Change your air filter too, if you haven't for a while.

2002 Chevy Tahoe, started with rear a/c blowing warm/hot air, then it started working again. Now both rear and front a/c blows warm/hot all the time. All speeds seem to be working in front and back....

sounds like a leak. Have your system checked for leaks and re-charged. If the system is full of refrigerant, then check the pressure switch on the compressor and the pressure switch on the accumulator (dryer). If the pressure in the system is low, these switches prevent the compressor from running to prevent damage.

On the new ac compressor for my 2002 Chevy tahoe, there is a sensor in the rear of the compressor which detatched when attempting to fill the system. What is the sensor called and how can I properly mount...

The sensor on the back is a high side cut switch. If it blow out then you have a stuck orifice tube that needs to be replaced do to clogging up the system and causing a restriction. that is why the sensor switch blow. snap ring pliers will be needed

A/c trouble

Hello, it sounds as if you have a problem with your tensioner jumping violently. When the defrost is on it uses the ac compressor that is why the belt jumps then to, but it sounds like you are going to be needing a compressor soon. It has a piston that is hanging up at a certain point and thats why it is jumping. It will break a brand new belt when it locks up,when that happens. Please rate my answer, thank you.
