Chryslers need clean transmisson fuild and the right type of fuild. I would check the transmisson fuild level and top up if needed. If the fuild looks old and dirty have the transmisson serviced witha fuild and filter change - 50-100 buck could save you big $$$ on a trans job later

When driving the truck tends to rev way higher than normal, when you are at a stop and then try to go depending on how hard you hit the gas it will bog down almost dying, or die. also when you are driving...

sounds like your torque converter going bad. change the tranny fluid, and look for metal shavings (have a pro do this), sometimes you can squeeze enough life out of a bad tranny/torque converter by changing the fluid, or it might just be a clogged tranny filter. change the fluid, and if theres metal shavings in it, sell it while it still runs.

My 04 impala slams or shifts hard when i start out from a complete stop or if im slightly rolling??? I just bought the car and it has 93,000 on it. According to the carfax the tranny was flushed at 70,000....

On every automatic transmission. you have whats called a tourque converter. If a flush and tranny fluid fill did not work before its not gonna work again. Your tourqe conver has gone bad or for some odd reason become detatched from the transmission housing. One thing that i know with all my experience you should never have your transmission flushed, especially more than once. Replacing your fluid is one thing but a tranny flush is just one thing auto manufactures should have never come up with. Also Check to see where the flush was done at. If it was done at a Jiffy lube, i doubt it was even done. BIG SCAM WITH JIFFY LUBE AND THERE TRANNY FLUSH SERVICE (check youtube for news reports). Now expect to pay a pretty penny for this becuase you have an automatic transmission. Normally on a manual, it would be your throwout bearing, but becuase the impala was never released with a manual tranny at least in that generation, your kinda stuck with taking it to a service shop. GO TO A GM SHOP. and ask them to fill the tranny with a special tranny fluit called DEXRON VI ONLY. Dexron is the only fluids that meets GM's standards.

2003 dodge neon transmission issues

Well no metal shavings should be in the filter if there is there is,something is not right internally in your transmission. When there is larger metal shavings in your tranny filter your tranny is probabley gonna have to be rebuilt or replaced. You can try changing the fluid and filter and see if that helps but nore than likely you will need to change out tranny with a new or rebuilt one.

I just replaced my tranny. It was working great

About 3 months ago, during my 25-mile commute to the ambulance base where I volunteer, my transmission started acting up. After a few minutes of driving normally, it started to upshift very hard. Each upshift was accompanied by a noticeable "Bang!" and it felt like the car was hitting a pot hole.

I immediately stopped and checked the tranny fluid at a service station, but the fluid level was fine and it didn't have any burnt smell. The car has 76K miles on it and the transmission fluid was changed at 50K per the maintenance schedule. I had no choice but to continue on to the base, driving very gently.

I made a stop about 5 minutes before arriving, to pick up dry cleaning. I was in the cleaners for about 8 minutes, and when I came out the hard shifting had completely disappeared. The car drove smoothly for the next 3 months.

Now, this problem seems to recur any time I drive the car even remotely hard. We're not talking about full-throttle accelerations here, since my everyday driving stays below 2500 RPM to save on gas. But if I'm in a hurry and start driving a touch harder - crossing over 3500 RPM - then the tranny will start shifting hard within minutes. Let it sit for 10 minutes with the engine off, and the problem is gone again

Losing power up one particular long hill

It sounds like a tranny problem. Without more info kinda hard to diagnose. The simplist thing to check is tranny fluid. If its low, going up a hill will pull fluid out of the torque converter. It could be the converter itself. It could possibly a fuel problem, but unlikely. Hope this helps. John...
