If you follow the rubber hose on the top of the engine it will lead to a small bowl shaped connection the stat is under there . there will also be a wire coming out if it . if you remove it you will probably need a gasket which should come with the new 1. make sure it is clean before you replace it. joe

Are there two thermostats for a 2012 Chrysler 200 with a 2 .4ltr engine and where are they located

There are two separate thermostats in your application, a primary and a secondary. The primary and secondary thermostats have different temperature profiles in terms of their opening temperature because they are located on different areas of the engine. The primary thermostat is located on the front of the water plenum in the thermostat housing/coolant inlet. The secondary thermostat is located in the cylinder head under the water plenum. The adapter that you are referring to does exist and I believe it is associated with the secondary thermostat. Here is a link to the first one. https://www.autozone.com/cooling-heating-and-climate-control/thermostat/duralast-thermostat/335455_381037_13514_93207 Here's the second thermostat. https://www.autozone.com/cooling-heating-and-climate-control/thermostat/duralast-thermostat/335477_381036_1620_93207

How fix heating coil

make and model of vehicle?

heater core will not cause your car to overheat, probably a plugged or defective thermostat. If you are getting steam on the windshield? you have a bad heater core.... if not, then focus in the thermostat, located on the engine block usually attached to the upper radiator hose.

You should check the thermostat. There must be a sensor connector on the thermostat housing. If you bypass that connector and the fan runs, then the thermostat is damaged and needs to be replaced. If you follow the radiator hose you will reach the thermostat housing.

Wherer is the thermostat on a hyundai elantra

There are at least 3 thermostats on your vehicle: One controls the electric cooling fan for the engine and its sensor is on the front radiator, the second is the passenger heating thermostat located under the dash board regulated by the switch on the dash board, The third is the thermostat housed in the cooling lines that opens at 180-190 degrees located on the top of the block water jacket where one of the heater hoses connects to its housing.

OK i have a 92 ford Taurus it is having a over heating problem i have changed the thermostat twice in two weeks its blowing cold air when i turn the heat on so what do i do????

Dd you check for a leak? did you know if the inside heater cooling panel it is connected to the cooling syst. (it seems like be damaged).
In other order the over heating problem could become from bad signal from cooling sensor located closer to the thermostat, did you changed? this sensor sends signal to the computer to starts the cooling fan located at radiator avoiding over heating problems!

The thermostat is a common issue, and fairly inexpensive to replace, located in housing at engine side of upper radiator hose.

I need to change out the thermostat on 1997 Nissan Sentra.

The thermostat is located near the back left of the engine if you are looking in with your hood open. It is inconveniently located next to several other hoses and wires. Your best bet is a racheting screwdriver with a 10mm socket. It is accessible from the top side. If you replace the thermostat and you experience over heating, it is most likely just air trapped in the housing. Run your car and warm it up, let it cool down, open radiator cap and add coolant. Repeat a few times and that should purge the air.

Find the big hose that comes out of the top of the radiator and follow it to the engine and that is where the thermostat is located. My advice is to be sure to get a factory thermostat and rubber gasket as it makes installation much easier. I have done it both ways and the factory one is easier to install.
