4wd front hubs

If this is a 4 by 4 and not an AWD, there is a switch on the left side of the steering wheel (on front of dash) that you can turn from two wheel drive to four wheel drive. If it is AWD it is 'always' in AWD.

Remove rear disk

You will need to soak it with penetrating oil and bang away, it is rusted to the wheel bearing hub. Use a brass faced hammer or a dead blow hammer like this one. Click here.

Lift and SAFELY support the front of the vehicle.

Use a wire or strap to support the caliper out of the way.

Remove the dust cap-( useless on these, but they put them there anyway)
Remove the axle nut- 36mm
Use a hammer and block of wood to make sure the axle is loose.
Remove the ABS wiring from the body
Remove the 3 15mm bolts from the back side of the knuckle.
Use the block of wood and hammer on the back of the hub flange to loosen the hub.
Remove hub
Clean the surface of rust,
Install new hub.

Remove the spindle, remove the hub from bearing, remove lock ring, press old bearing out, press new one in, if old hub is reusable, press into bearing, reinstall spindle.

I have a Disco II and the wheel hub bearing went and i'm tryign to change it but i cant seem to get the hub off, can any one help with a step to step guide or something, thanks.

RAVE says the following:
1) Release ABS Sensor harness grommet from inner wing valance and disconnect multi plug.
2) Raise front of vehicle.
3) Remove road wheel.
4) Pull ABS Sensor harness through aperture into wheel arch.
5) Release harness from brackets on inner wing valance, suspension turret and front hub.
6) Release stake from drive shaft nut
7) Remove drive shaft nut with assistance & discard.
8) Remove front brake disk (Remove calliper, pad holder, screw and tap to remove)
9) Remove 4 bolts securing wheel hub to steering knuckle.
10) Release wheel hub from steering knuckle then remove wheel hub and drive shaft assembly from axle. DO NOT REMOVE ABS SENSOR FROM HUB. HUB AND SENSOR ARE SUPPLIED AS AN ASSEMBLY.
11) Position the wheel hub and drive shaft on a press, place supports beneath the wheel studs and press the drive shaft from the wheel hub.
12) Remove drive shaft oil seal from axle casing.

Refit is mostly the reverse, you need to take care to lubricate things in the right places and put loctite on the drive shaft and locate the loom and torque everything right.

Change front wheel bearings

u will need to remove the brake cailper and the the brake rotor, then the hub retaining nut, that is a large metric nut, the bearing and hub must come off, then u will need to take this hub to a machine shop or the dealer and have the new bearing pressed in.

2003 differential whine/noise

The last time I had a hum coming out of the area of the differential it was an inside axle bearing going bad. In my case there were four bearings (one on each end of each axle). It was a Toyota. We changed one bearing after listening very carefully and guessed right. I don't know if Cadillac is built similar in this regard but I'm thinking it may be. It was a speed sensitive hum sound like you describe.
