Question about 1999 Mercury Tracer
Top Experts Help!
I have a 1999 Mercury Grand Marques with the standard V8 4.6L engine and 63,000 mi. The problem started recently, intermittently it would not idle when started and stall, with the pushing lightly on the gas peddle it would go into the idle mode and run normally. Recently (2 days a go) I tried to start the vehicle and there is no getting the car to idle. The car stalls and will not go into the idle mode. The car is garaged and has been maintained.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions in resolving this problem.
I tried to sent this request for help before but it may not have gone through.
Thanks for any help on this.
It sounds like the idle control valve is sticking. it is located at the throttlebody where the air inlet is. try tapping the valve to see if the idle is ok if so the valve should be replaced
