1993 aerostar won't fire

I got a 1993 ford aerostar that won't start. It turns over fine. The problem is i'm not getting any fuel. I've replaced the fuel pump and filter. The ECM relay is good I think. I don't have a manual to tell me if i'm checking in the right place! Can you help?

Might be a fuel filter problem. Try a rubber, not steel, mallet and pound on the bottom of the gas tank about twenty times. The fuel pump and filter are in the tank and can get clogged. This will sometimes loosen the clog but you will have to replace the fuel pump eventually.

Has the vehicle been jared like a fender bender, i had this problem and found a black box that has a red button that had poped out. push in and reset and i was fine. when you turn the ignition to point before start you should hear the pump cycle and stop ( in the fuel tank). this stoped when button popped up.. the switch was located in wall behind passangers seat near rocker pannel, if memory is correct.

Is there a way I can check myself to see if there is something in my gas tank that is clogging the lines or fuel filter

Easiest way (although not very safe) - Remove a fuel line, and turn the engine over to see if gasoline comes out. Just be very careful you clean up the leaked gasoline. Also, your car is probably fuel injected so the fuel lines may be pressurized. You'll have to bleed the pressure or you'll get sprayed.

1993 ford explorer

If you have fuel, replace the coil plate, you fried the diode in the coil plate causing it to not fire to test you need a spark plug detector light to see if your getting spark. If you just disconnect the wire and test it like the old spark plug system you will fry the coil or the diode in the plate, I forget what ford calls it, GM calls it a firing diode?? I think rusty memory.

Stalls when put into gear

Its possible it could be other things causing the problem, but seeing as you've checked most of the likely causes, it is most likely your Torque-Converter. The lockup clutch in your Stator-Fan located inside the Torque-Converter could be siezed, causing the car to stall.
