Wires to computer seem to be good, could it be a connection in the distributer? it does seem to be sending a pulse....

It starts and runs fine when I spray carb cleaner or starting fluid into the intake.

I am having the same problem with the same year montero. I have changed the fuel pump and the fuel pressure regulator thinking it was a fuel issue. Engine will run if spray starter fluid into it, but only for a split second. Any help would be appreciated as I am not an electrician.

Check the injector pulses with an osciliscope. If you arent getting a pulse check the ecu. I have cooked 2 of them. One killed my ignition but had good fuel. the second time it wouldnt open the injectors but had good spark. A quick check is to take the ecu out and take the cover off. then look for burnt electrical components.

The only other thing to try would be to use a continuity tester with noise and back trace to the computer or get computer wire color code to test injector pulse at the source. You may have a broken or poor wire that you cant see or a plug thats not in properly etc.

Mass Air Flow meter could be your problem.Have you tried squirting engine start up the intake tube while cranking to see if the engine wants to try and run?If engine trys to run it eliminates mechanical issues and narrows it down to electrical and fuel.If you have an injector pulse and fuel pressure the fuel system is ok.Not sure how you checked your fuel pressure but the most reliable way is to use inline fuel pressure tester. Is the spark you have a yellow spark or nice fat blue one?Preferable to do this test at night when its quite so you can see and if a good spark hear it.If spark is yellow and weak ignition module is likely fault. With what youve told me it sounds like it could still be several things so let me know how you go with it .Sorry cant be more specific with answer but there are too many potential possibilitys and without vehicle in workshop to do tests myself it makes it harder to track the fault down.Good luck with it

2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport (won't not 'want') start. Replaced the starter and fuel pump. Filter still not getting gas to the cylinders

If you already replaced fuel pump and filter and still no fuel pressure at injectors rail, your problem is more than likely electrical. Check for good power and ground at fuel pump connector. If no power at fuel pump connector, check your fuel pump fuse, relay and wiring for opens(broken) feed wire.

Getting gas no spark. coil and power into the coil good. 1990 dodge dakota with a 3.9.

The coil, injectors, and fuel pump get power from the ASD relay. If you have power to the coil but no spark from the coil, have you checked the pickup in the distributor ?
The pickup sends a signal to the engine computer and the computer fires the coil.

1990 honda accord wont fire

Do you have spark, do you have fuel pressure? it is one of these or a camshaft timing problem. I would start with checking the spark at the plugs 1st.

The dash gauges all work , fuel pumps are both good , the fuel pumps wont come on and the truck trys to fire when i turn the ignition on but wont , could this be a fuel regulator

did you check the fuel pressure pump on the frame rail for power and ground? have you verified no ignition spark to the spark plugs? have you checked for fire from the coil to the distributor cap? does the check engine light come on when you turn the key on? have you check for injector pulse and power at the fuel injectors? if the fuel pump won't come on and you have no ignition fire and no injector pulse, all of these systems are triggered by the ECM.

1990 Deville, new fuel pump, new ICM, 40 psi on fuel rail, got spark, start the car and it runs fine for short time then dies. I have found out that something kills power to the injectors. Shut the hood,...

Replace the fuel Pump relay in the Power distribution box under the hood. Also, start checking the wiring harness back to the fuel pump for shorts. Most likely this is the relay cutting out every time it is pumped or jiggled but it is possible, however slight, that the problem is a short.

My 1990 montero will tun over but will not start. i

check for spark and gas by trying to spray starting fluid into the intake and trying to start it. If it starts and runs for a few seconds, then it's a bad fuel delivery system or possible fuel pump.

My 1990 Mitsubishi Montero Sport will crank but will not start. I tried to use starting fluid through the air filter shaft but the car still won't start. The car has been stalling before when I am idle and...

Given the year of the Montero I expect the ECU has failed or the component within the distributor which tells the ECU when to send a spark. Check for spark or fuel injector pulse. To check fuel injector pulse rent NOID lights from auto parts store. If no pulse I expect the Distributor if no fuel I expect the ECU

hello, first check all vacuum line, intake manifold in order ,fuel pump is working, hoping the fuel pressure is good, firing or ignition is working also, try to check your spare plug, determine the condition, have fuel or traces of ignition spark, check your excess voltage protection (relay) which supply power in engine side, located at fuse box, also you may check your fuel distributor (free up) or your injector nozzle for proper spray pattern, workshop have special tool for fuel pressure,ty
