Mini van wont start

I went out to start my van today and i turn the key, it clicks... won't start.. any ideas or suggestions. Oh by the way.. battery is not dead... all other lights light up, radio turns on etc. engine clicks.

I had the same problem with my 05 T&C Thanksgiving morning, with everything lighting up but just clicks from the starter. Jumped it today with the other car and started just fine, which leads me to believe the battery is going (not enough stored amps to engage the starter). I'm going to have the battery tested in the morning.

Yesterday, I had the same problem. Jumped the battery and it started. Drove for 6 hours without incident. Started normally for the next 4 starts and last night it happened again. Jumped it again and started. Any thoughts?

It was the battery and I did check all fuses prior to installing the new battery.

It does sound like the battery. other items will work on a low battery but as kenh said there isn't enough amps to power the starter... it needs alot to turn over the motor. before you replace the battery you should test that the alternator is working properly. there is a simple test for it but i'm told as a safety issue that it's best left to a mechanic.

SOURCE: mini van wont start

Sounds like starter selanoid, but first make sure battery connections are clean and tight, if sure they are then turn on headlights and try to start if still clicks and lights dim its starter.

Why won't my 2010 Ford Econoline start despite all lights/radio etc come on?

It takes a lot more power to start a motor than it does to run the accessories.. First thing to check is for loose or corroded battery cables.. next check the output on the alternator to see if it is charging the battery.

Astro van won't start

Do you notice crank when you turn over the key in ignition to start. Does it turn over but does not start, or no start nothing at all. ---------- If its not cranking and nothing happens when you turn the key, then its battery and starter related problem, both needs to be inspected.Either battery is not completely charged or its weak battery, that is not holding charge or its faulty battery or its connections are loose.-------- BUT if it is cranking and not starting, this clears that battery has juice in it and battery is doing its job and other possibilities needs to be checked. -------- The other possibilities are ,is the fuel pump coming on when you turn the key to start,is the spark is noticed at spark plug, is the check engine light coming ON. For more troubleshooting regarding this problem, click the link below:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/10/2000-chevrolet-astro-van-wont-start.html -------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Went out to start van and it seem as if it wont turn over the first time but it did; then went to the store around the corner and it wont start or turn over. i kept turning the ignition to start and after...

That sounds like a starter issue. If the engine is clicking when you turn the key on it will be starter. If there is nothing when your turning key on it's probably battery or solenoid issue. Solenoid for starter is located attached to the side of your starter.

Chyrsler grand voyager wont start just clicks HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you mean by bump started? The lights and radio can work, but the battery may be too weak to crank the engine over. The best thing to do would be to drive it to a parts store, where most offer free check of battery and charging system (if you can drive it. If not, 1st remove battery and bring in for testing). The click you hear is classic low battery symptom, although it can be other things. So, 1st get the free test, and post results back here. How old is the battery? (and answer 2 questions!) Thanks
