i have the same problem my heater works a li

ttle but its not hot like it should be!!!

Same problem here. Suspected thermostat, but water temperature
gauge is reading normal (halfway) when engine is warm. Water hose
going in to heater feels hot to touch and outgoing hose is warm.
Temperature control knob does make air colder when adjusted to cold,
but air is barely warm when adjusted to hot. Read somewhere that
an antifreeze solution that is greater than 50-50 could cause air to be
cooler since water is required to retain heat. I believe mine is
greater than 50-50 since I did a bulb check and found it to be off the
scale as far as freeze protection. Never heard of this being a
    problem. What do you think?

I had this exact problem, it is probably your Blower Motor Resistor. It is located under/behind your glovebox, one screw holds it in. Not too expensive either. If that doesn't work it may be your blower motor. Good Luck!

Engines can rock on the motor mounts. You probably have a vacuum line that is pinched, cracked, broken, kinked, or unhooked. check the engine compartment lines first. If you have thin plastic vacuum lines, they can kink more easily than rubber lines. If you have been working under the dash (replacing a radio, etc) check your work area in case you have a broken fitting on a vacuum housing or an unhooked line.

I would change the Thermostat. if that doesn't fix it? I would buy a Radiator flush and follow the directions exactly you will be surprised how much junk comes out. That should fix all your heat problems.

99 Dodge durango heater not working

The blowers ion the back have there own blower motor. The front has it's own. The resister controls the range the blower motor runs on,( low, medium, high). If the blower motor is not working it may be the motor itself. Was the fuse checked:?

Heater is blowing cold air,

Check operation of heater coolant control valve, and it's associated remote control mechanism.
Check that both inlet and return heater hose is equally warm, as this indicates coolant flow through the heater core.
If no coolant flow:-
Check cooling system is correctly filled, taking care to bleed off any air locks from the system as necessary (with heater coolant valve open);
Check heater core is not blocked.

No Heat in 99 Taurus

Just finished fixing my daughters 1999 taurus heat. It would blow warm only when running down the road. At idle it blew cold. I started with replacing thermostat, and water pump because they are the easier fix. Still did not help. Then I replaced the heater core. A daunting job but not that hard to move the dash slighly out of the way to replace. There is a good write up at tarusclub.com. After that, heat was better but at idle, it would still blow cool sometimes. Researched and found answer. Park car on the steepest hill you can find with front of car up. Start car and take off reservoir cap. Let car warm up and keep rpms about 1500. After a while the fluid will come running out of the car and all over the place but it will bring air bubbles with it. Reduce rpm, add more fluid and repeat about 3 times. It will make a mess but after that, the heater works perfectly. We get heat long before the temp gage indicates any and it never blows cold unless you lower the temp.
