My car keeps shutting off

I have a 2004 Santa Fe. Why does it keep shutting off on me and after I let it sit over night it starts back up?

This sounds like the same problem I'm having with my 2002 Santa Fe. It just shuts off and sometimes after a while will start again.

Did you find out what was causing it?

It could be several things . One i would have the fuel pressure tested , you may have a bad fuel pump. Two a bad coil pack , if they are going bad they can heat up and fail.Three the ECM or CPU may have gone bad or going bad . Witch would explane after sitting will start again.I would start with the fuel system making sure you have fuel pressure . It could also be the fuel filter that could explane low fuel pressure .

If it hasnt been done already, it's a good place to start. Be careful to release pressure before removing it!

I have trouble starting my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe after fueling.

Some vehicles have a fuel cap pressure censer in the computer this will sometimes cause the engine lite to come on. Make sure to tighten the fuel cap all the way. You might try replacing the fuel cap.
