The best way to do it is to use the correct key for the vehicle. If you are using the correct key, then you need to get your immobilizer system properly diagnosed and repaired. There is no way to "override" the system without damaging the computer system that controls it (which also makes your engine run).

Please note: There are many self-proclaimed "auto experts" that will point you in the direction of several web sites that claim to show you how to do such things. Some of them can work, some of them cannot possibly work - ALL of them are opening up a can of worms that you will probably not be wanting to deal with (or pay for) once it is opened....I would think LONG and HARD before attempting any modifications to your vehicle or its computer systems....It may cost you a small fortune if you later decide that the modifications need to be reversed in order to get your vehicle functioning correctly.

How do I override the anti theft on a 2001 chevy malibu

Try this. Lock and then unlock the drivers door with the key. That should reset the antitheft module. If it doesn't , you can get an override kit from a dealer. Simply unplugging the module won't accomplish anything.

How to override pass lock

The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

How do i override/reset anti theft system?1999 Jeep Cherokee, anti theft light stays on, turns over but won't start.

this does not sound like an antitheft problem. the SKIS systems in the jeeps will allow the truck to start, but it will turn off again after 5 seconds.

FYI if your jeep key is gray, it has the SKIS system. if it is a black key, it does not.

have you already done diagnostics for a no start? if you are lacking fuel or spark, you need to look elsewhere for the problem if it does not start at all. good luck!

Lost keys to ford ranger and need to bypass the antitheft system.I have a xtra ignition key but it does not have the chip to start the truck.

Hi,

I am not allowed to provide instructions to bypass an antitheft system, I am sorry.

But I can tell you that it ist not simple to be done,I think it´s even impossible to override the system of your car. The reason is that the immobilizer is included in the engine control module, so there is no way to bypass the system.

The easiest -and cheapest- way is to order a new key or tow the car to the next Ford Branch to program the existing key.

How to reset the anti theft swith and Where is it

Some possible solutions that might help: 1. I'm not sure if this model comes with a Master Ignition key (which is usually a different colour fob or shape). If it does, then try starting the car with the Master key, it should override and reset the antitheft system and allow the car to start. 2. The Alarm keyfob (if it has one) battery may need replacing. 3. There may be an override key operated switch on the alarm itself or secreted away somewhere inside the car, which you can use to activate/deactivate the antitheft device? 4. You may have to key a code number onto a set of buttons on the dashboard to reset the Antitheft device? 5. Do you have the User Manual for the vehicle. There should be some explanation in there about what precautions to take when replacing the vehicle battery, and how to reset the anti theft device so that the engine can be started again
