Starter not turning engine over only clicks. Solenoid?

battery flat or low amps. starter motor brushes worn out, or engine locked up. try jump starting engine off a known working battery or another engine. if not turn over see if you can turn over the engine by hand. ( socket on crankshaft and turn clockwise) if these are all good replace the starter motor. or bump start engine.

My truck wont always start bought a new battery so thats not it auto zone said not getting enough air when it starts

Is the battery turning over the engine properly or is it barely cranking over? The main function of a battery is to provide the power to turn the engine over until the engine starts, then it's only function is to help regulate the voltage in your system along with the alternator. Will the truck start when you hook it up to jumper cables? If the engine is turning over properly and the truck not starting, the battery is not the problem. You then need check out other things. For a gasoline engine to run, it requires three things; fuel to burn, compression in the engine and a spark at the right time to ignite the fuel. You must have all three for it to work.

Engine turns over but will not start.

Hi there:

When the light comes on, one or more diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) are stored in the engine control module. These DTCs remain even if the light goes out. To address a Check Engine Light problem, the DTCs are retrieved and the appropriate troubleshooting information is followed in order to determine the problem.

Just scanned the computer and send us code number find it.

Hope helps.

Engine will turn over, but will not start

Suggestion, don;t try and start the car with the gas pedal pushed to the floor. Asking for trouble in the future.

Could be a fuel pump, clogged fuel filter.

Check engine light on? If so, Have the code read/scanned at your mechanic, or your local auto parts superstore.
