The AC is no longer working on the car and the serpentine belt is broken and needs to be replaced. I do not want to fix the ac but need to replace the serpentine belt. Is there a way to bypass the ac in order to let the serpentine belt work? I tried to install the belt but there is a metal bar in the way and I can't figure out how to install the belt with this bar in the way.
You need to have an automotive technitian install a new belt because there is a certain path the belt must follow before it will go on, plus the belt must go around the A/c as it is part of the path. You just don't have to use the A/C.
Tell the tech that the belt broke so that he can look for a reason as to why the belt broke.
