Is the car diesel, if not then it is outside fumes from buses, trucks etc, the cabin air filter will not stop fumes, only dust sized particles, like mold, pollen etc.

Possibly something in the car or duct work, try an automotive duct sanitizer spray, they are available at most parts stores

Why do I keep smelling car exhaust fumes when there aren't any

I had that issue with a car I used to own, the problem was that the exhaust system was very old and rusty, some places had leaks and somehow the fumes managed to get in the cabin, colorless CO and CO2, if that's the case, very dangerous situation because can cause you to faint and lose control of vehicle or can also poison you.... another possibility is that maybe your cabin air filter is very dirty with smoke and then you smell inside the car.

Smelling fuel inside car while driving

In most cases, if you can smell fuel inside the cabin, the fuel leak is some place on or around the engine. Fumes from the engine compartment can move into the cabin thru the fresh air vents.
Could be a leaking injector or fuel line.

Gas Fumes in Air Vents

This could be as simple as a hole in the exhaust under the cabin area. I would also check that all cylinders are firing properly. They can do a fuel pressure test to make sure there is nothing wrong in the line as well.

My daihatsu terios is losing power and i can smell petrol fumes in the cabin while driving after the 30000km service

You have a fuel leak and if it started after a service I would think that the fuel filter was changed and the leak will be at the fuel lines at the filter. Take it back to the service center and ask to have it fixed properly.

The smell i'm having is not the raw gas smell , it smells exhaust fumes getting in the car. i checked for exhaust leaks buut had none

if inded the smell of exhaust is getting into your car i would suggest not driving it until it is properly checked by a licensed meachanic. it could be entering through your heater/AC blower and in return be fatal if left untouched for a period of time

An odor is coming on when I start my Ford expedition 2010 eddie bauer . It is just when I turn on the engine and start driving. The fumes are giving me a headache. I called my dealer and said...

from my experience, that is the smell of gasoline poorly burning at start up. getting into the cab that badly means that the climate control is sucking in fumes from the engine area, incredible this being a 2010. there also may be a leak at the heater core that warms up the cabin, basically coolant fluid fumes . definatly a warranty claim, something is very wrong here. pursue this with ford. battery leakage is total nonesense.

Smelling gas fumes in passenger cabin. Cannot detect any smell under hood. Does it have a cabin air filter ?

There are rubber gas line hoses under the hood & after a number of years they tend to leak ever so slightly. They are under the hood to the passenger side. You may need to replace these fuel lines. There should be a cabin filter but you must take the wiper motor screen off to get at it & it is on the passenger side. Good luck!

I have a 2001 civic ex manual trans with 67,000

Sounds like the clutch is worn or the throw out bearing. You will need to have both checked. As far as the gas fumes go, check your air filter to make sure it doesn't need to be changed, if your fuel injected check to make sure you don't have leaks around your injectors. Finally check the gas fume collector for damage or bad vaum lines.

Smell fuel burned inside the cabin while i'm driving at cruise speed 100km/hrs to 160km/hrs. it is toxic and hazardous its deadly. could you help me to find a solution for this problem.

range rovers have alot engine issuses. you need to have the engine tunedup, plugs, air filter, wires, cap, rotor, oil change. also have the catalitic convertor inspected. you may need new 02 sensors as well.

Rich fuel smell in & out of car, causes my eyes to burn.

You changed everything but the temperature sending unit/sensor. That's what is your problem as far as no proper cold start. When first started and cold, the sensor tells the computer to place the engine into cold start mode, engine starts and runs because it's at a bit higher idle and getting a bit more fuel. When warmed up, the sensor, if good, will tell the computer to place the engine into normal run mode now. Have the sensor tested first. If good, the engine is not going into a higher idle and is still getting the fuel but not using it fast enough because it's flooding. Hence the fuel smell. That's the fast idle solenoid on the EFI for this and the A/C high idle when it's running.
