Is it just the abs light or is it the brake light as well? Also do your brake lights work (check before answering please), have you had any problems with your cruise control or speedometer?

How do I check the abs braking system, trying to get light to go off

A tip, when the ABS light comes on it usually means the ABS system has sensed a problem. Unless you are trained with ABS stay away it is dangerous to work with. I have bleed the brakes at the wheel only and it reset itself or some parts houses like Auto zone, advance have free testing on this type system. and also they can reset the light for you if it was only a slight reset needed.Good luck and if someone else can give you better advice listen to them OK Mike L

How to reset abs light service system

Abs does not reset. Every time you start the car the ABS goes through a self test.

Does the abs light reset automatically every time the vehicle is turned off and on or is there a way to manually reset it?

Hello
Whenever the ABS warning light comes on in the instrument cluster and it stays on it means the systems electronic control module (computer) has detected a problem in one or more of the inputs to the module, an ABS fault code is present as long as the ABS light is on. So what must be done to correct this? You must have the ABS electronic control module scanned with a special tool to read the fault code, then a trained technicain will diagnose and repair the defective part or wiring. Most times this is a wheel speed sensor (one for each wheel) that gives an erratic signal. While the light is on all you have is regular non-ABS brakes. I assume here the light is on all the time? Until the problem(s) are fixed that are keeping the light on are repaired it will no go off, it can't be reset manually.

Need to reset abs light on a 97 gmc sonoma truck

If the abs light is on than there is a problem with the abs. If the problem was fixed the light would go out on it's own once the self test completed successfully when you started the vehicle. If you have not pulled codes or made a repair than turning off the light with a scan tool capable of reading abs data will only result in the light coming back on when the abs module still sees the fault present when you start the vehicle the next time. The first thing to do is find out what codes are present. Then focus on that part of the abs system. If you know the code or find out what the code is post it and I'll help you figure it out.

Hi, I need to reset the awd,low tire pressure and abs alarms on my 2003 buick can you help me

Any good parts store like Autozone, Advance, etc... can reset your AWD and low tire lights. The abs is sensing a problem with your anti lick brake system - they normally do a "self test" when you start up and reset themselves if "All Systems Go". RE: ABS check wheel sensors etc, and a note on others if reset is done and lights/alarms returns then you have a problem within those systems.

The 4WD! Warning Light keeps coming on then turns off, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) light is on sometimes and not others and the Traction Control System (TCS) Indicator Light. the first time they...

TCS And 4wd use the abs wheel sensors to engage and disengage so if there is a slight fault in the abs sensor system TCS will be disabled and the 4wd will either not engage or disengage depending on the drive position set at time of fault that is what the lights are telling you
Get the sensor system checked out from the abs rings on the axles to the sensors and wiring to the abs pump controller
