Cannot remove the water pump from a 318i 1994

-   I can't get mine out either.  I initially used a slide hammer.  Then I rigged up a puller, braced against other engine bolts, and actually pulled the shaft out of the pump casing, it is so stuck in there.
My next step is to screw in a large threading tap into the pump casing.  Then I will weld on a threaded rod and pull on that.  PITA!!
I heard another person used a dremel and ground off the front portion of the pump to get to the o-ring.-   Hellkell

-   Mine is stuck too.  I tried a slide hammer first.  Then I rigged up a puller and actually pulled the shaft out.  The pump casing is still stuck in.  
My next step is to try inserting in a large tap into the pump casing and welding on a threaded rod and trying to pull the whole contraption out.  
If that doesn't work I was reading about someone using a dremel tool to grind the front portion of the pump away.  Supposedly the o-ring is the sticking point.  I find that hard to believe though.-   Hellkell

-   I have 318is, same problem, the pump wont come out, tried tapping it, used the 2 bolts and snapped off the edge of the pump, does anyone know what to do to remove, i went to auto shop to look at pulleys but nothing i could see that would do the job, please help someone -   htozwhls

-   we can not get the pump out the top sectikon broke off completely
we have tried tapping it and everything it feels as if it is stuck-   Apack1
