Themustat noheat themustat is not working correctly and drops down below the c part and stays there would this be the reason i am getting no heat

Many issues will not set a code so start with basic troubleshooting. Is fuel pressure correct? Is EGR dirty or sticking open? Is IAC dirty or sticking? Is compression correct? Bad coolant temp sensor, bad O2 sensor, clogged exhaust or converter all can cause this, even a bad vacuum leak!

2000 Chevy venture gauge says its overheating and heat gets cold but then the gauge drops back down real quickly and heat works again. doesn't steam


You are low on coolant. There is air in the coolant system. This is the reason it jumps high with no heat.

I have a 1992 toyota paseo and the temperature gauge doesnt give me the correct temperature


there could be a faulty temperature sender or the connections can be dirty in the plug that goes on it clean it first and see what happens if this doesn't work buy a new one if that doesn't work you might not have a thermostat installed and the gauge stays down and only sometimes raises a little then drops down again

Warm up has heat/noheat blow back at reserve tank losing fluid


It sounds like you have a leaking head gasket. What's happening is the coolant is leaking through a crack in the head gasket and air is being pumped into the cooling system on the compression stroke causing the coolant to blow back into the reserve tank. The cooling system can't maintain pressure so now your heater doesn't work correctly either.

Trying to burp cooling system, but when car heats up the coolant shoots out of the radiator like a fountain.. Thermostat is removed, still heats up


You are correct in your suspicions.
The thermostat blocks flow thru the radiator to help the engine warm up. The coolant still flows thru the block with the thermostat closed. If you remove the thermostat the cooling system should flow thru the radiator and stay below 160 degrees if the air temp is below 90.
If the thermostat is out and the engine is getting hot at idle speed, either the water pump has failed, or there is another blockage in the engine block.

I'm quite certain what your problem is. The fluid level is too low. Now wait, it's not that simple. In order to bring the coolant level to the correct height on this vehicle, ready for this?, You have to jack up the front of the van or drive it to an upgrade that is quite steep. The reason for this is that the heater core is almost a foot higher than the level of the radiator. I found this out by trial and error. Most dealerships don't evn know about this. I'm assuming you've already ruled out the easy stuff such as a bad thermostat or radiator correct? Let me know how you make out, okay? Thanks, Dana.

Sounds like you have a bare wire somewhere that is touching metal and grounding out. Probably a starter cable. Try unhooking the battery, check the voltage of the battery, then hook the cable back up, watching for sparks from the cable. After you get it hooked back up, check the voltage again. If you see a small spark, it is normal. If you see a big spark, you have a wire that is touching something it is not supposed to.

Previa Heater Problem


Previa heaters are usually ultra-reliable.
So, regarding your question, the only reason for the temp gauge to drop down with the heater on is the thermostat is sticking open, or you have a lower than recommended thermostat installed. The factory thermostat is a 192 degree F/89 degrees C stat. Down your way, a lot of the parts places vend the "summer" thermostats, and I suspect that this is your problem.
Look to see what the temp degrees that are printed on the stat. Should be 192 F or 89 C. The "summer" stats are 185 F/ 85 C. Also, make sure that your stat has a small "wiggle valve", some aftermarket stats do not have this. Very important. Install the stat with the "wiggle valve" pointing straight up/12 o'clock...
Regarding your trans dropping out od OD, this is because the coolant temp is dropping below 172 degrees F. This is the threshold for the OD to engage. Below 172/no OD engagement.
