I had the same problem on my '99 Taurus and got it fixed today. I had the heater core back flushed. The water was just filthy. I haven't had heat in my car for a couple of years like I have now. My mechanic recommended that I come back in a week and have it flushed again.

sounds like your thermostat is stuck open, if its takes a very long time for the engine to warm up and you get nothing but cold air from your heat then thats the first place i would start.

1999 Ford Taurus, no heat. Air comes thru all vents but blows cold air like the ac is on. Replaced thermostat twice, flushed heater core twice, still ice cold air. Help?

Try checking the two pipes that go into and come out of the heater matrix, is one of them hot? if it is there is an air lock within the matrix, Also is the thermostat opening fully? Sorry i know you said you have changed it twice already but take it out check settings when it should open and close, then boil some water and test the thermostat

CTS Check

Yes it is an easy check first test the switch cold the resistance should be high and then put the switch in hot water close to boiling point and take another reading the Resistance should be low if not then the gage is bad, if I remember right it's 200 ohms when hot but if you have an analog meter it Will just barely read Resistance when cold and swing to the right as it gets hotter just like a gage would, and if there is no difference then it's bad, it uses wax to expand as it gets hot if the wax has leaked out it will not change Resistance.

Ford ka heater blows hot air all the time

Your problem is a faulty heater control valve. The design used on these vehicles allows for hot water to flow constantly and compete with the evaporator as there is no blender door. You have to replace the valve and possibly the control head. Meanwhile, you can bypass the valve to have cold air

No heat in my 1999 ford taurus

Those cars were also notorious for the turbines rusting off the back of the water pump causing poor water flow. When the car has been running check the upper and lower hoses to make sure the are both warm. If the cooling system was in very poor condition before this work you may also have a plugged up radiator. Keep track of your coolant level for blown head gasket. Also check your oil regularly for milky color. This is a sign of coolant getting in to oil.
