Try tapping the key gently with a hammer while turning it if you get it to turn then you can remove the cylinder and replace it if not you have to drill it out

I am mech inclined, but this has me stumped. jeep wont even attempt to start .. no power to solenoid, cept battery... relay is fine, ignition too. sooo....what now?

The Ignition switch needs to bee adjusted properly. There is a rod that engages the switch, this rod is connected to the ignition lock cylinder or where you turn the key.. the ignition switch itself has two mounting bolts that connect it to the steering collum loosen these two bolts and slide the switch forward towards the steering wheel as far as it will go. hold the switch in this forward position and tighten the two bolts to lock it into place. While you are there you may want to take the switch back off an make sure you remembered to reinsert the rod back into the switch in the first place!! If you go through all this and it still doesn't start take the switch back and get them to give you another. I have gotten a faulty new switch on more than one occation.

F150 ignition locked up removed it now wont turn over all the way

From what you've described, I'm wondering if your ignition switch (not the cylinder) caused your whole problem. If everything you've explained is correct, the parts in your column SHOULD move all the way forward and back. I'm thinking the switch itself ot perhaps the rod going into the switch, possibly even the gear shift lock (if so equipped) have worn or are in some way getting jammed up. You'll have to do some digging to pin-point the exact cause but now you've got something solid to look for. Please let me know what you find. Thanks and good luck!

Steering wheel wont lock and stuck in park

In the fuse block under the drivers side rear seat check the ignition 0 fuse. In the under hood fuse block check the B/U fuse and the BTSI fuse. If the b/u fuse is blown than you would not have back up lamps.

I'm trying to put a new ignition switch in my 92 ford van i got the sleeve in and pinned but the key switch wont stay in is there some way to lock this in

The ignition is suppose to be in the forward acc position when removed -make sure the inside is set for that-also the pin depress needs to spring back out in to the hole of the housing -re examine that pin to see if it is stuck in.
