SOURCE: 1995 pontiac bonneville stalls

I just went through lots of troubleshooting and expense on my 1996. Whenever I would lift my foot off the accelerator and was below about 30 mph, the rpm's would starts jumping around and sometimes it would stall. If I gave it a little gas (accelerator), I could sometimes keep it running. It also backfired once in a while. Starts right back up. Also, if I let it idle while in part, it would die after 1-2 minutes.

I ended up finding a hole in the fuel regulator. About a ~$70 part if you get an AC Delco, but very simple to change.

Getting a no signal code and speedo control code i have replaced the speed sensor output that goes in the transsmistion and can see no visual problems with the wires. what next

A speedo control code? Or are you trying to say Speed Control. Does your speedometer work? If your speedoeter works, you are trying to fix the wrong thing. "Speed Control" has to do with your cruise control system, not your speedometer. What code do you have exactly?

The cruise control does not engage.

there is not a fuse but there is some vaccuum lines. if you are faceing your car with the hood open, look at the right side of the enging bay. near the washer and kind of under the master cyilinder there should be a metal can looking thing with some rubber or plastic lines coming off. replace any vaccuum lines that are worn and your CC should come back.

Electrical problems

sounds like the brake light switch is the culprit for both the intermittent brake lights and cruise control problems. the engine warning light could be an unrelated issue that needs to be diagnosed.

"Sticky" accelerator

no, that's not likely the throttle body. start by looking at the throttle body though, if there are cables going to it that control it, follow the cables back, one should go to the firewall, and one should go to a little black box. that box is you're cruise control unit. chances are that is what's causing the problem (try a salvage yard, they're cheaper than a dealer). however if there is an electric motor controlling the throttle, you should take the car to a shop to have it fixed.

Bonneville wont start

Check your battery cables,, they are probably loose or corroded. Side mount batteries that hold multiple cables have this problem that occurs over an extended period of time. Cleaning the connections and retightening the hold down bolt may fix it. Sometimes a 3/8 bolt and a washer with a nut can be used to get
a more positive holding force to keep the cable tight.
