Re: 1997 Thunderbird LX Replaced fuel pump, screen, fuel filter; and also added new battery. Now the car will not start - not getting a spark. Ground down plug, also tried applying gas with spray bottle to see if not receiving fuel was causing the problem but still no spark. Sounds like it wants to turn over but just can't.
We're strapped for cash and my wife needs the car to get to work (live miles from public transportation route ) so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you have checked the air filter, fuel filter, plugs, leads, and coil(s), then you are either looking at a mechanical fault, or electrical fault. You haven't mentioned yet if the car has spark, only that you replaced the leads and the plugs. Try pulling a plug out, plugging it into a lead, grounding it and cranking the engine. Do you have spark? If not, then check and replace the coil(s) and try again. Also check the condition of the air filter.
Sounds like more of a fuel problem to me.Check fuel pressure 35-40psi and or change fuel pump. Any was the car is equip with a TFI module which controls gas, spark and timing. Located in one or two areas. First spot is in the front of the car next to radiator passenger side. It will be gray in color about 3" long bolted in a heat dispactor. Spot 2 Drviers side of fire wall next to the master cylnder.
