1997 88 Olds Where is the Power Steering Canister?

Thanks for the quick reply and that is what I thought it sounded like. I'm no mechanic however everyday add fluid, etc. things aren't new to me. However for the life of me I cannot find the refill canister. Can you direct me to its location - really really appreciated.

On the pass side against the fire wall down low. you will need a long flexible funnel. the cap will be black and hard to see and its close to the belt. its there use a light if needed good luck.

2000 Olds Intrige I have several small issues with the Olds. The power steering fluid is leaking from the resevoir.I think it's the line running from it. The fan knob will only work on high. After

power steering has pressurized hoses they need to be replaced with power steering hoses,if its the reservoir i suggest getting used from scrap yard, and your fan motor is dying you will soon lose high speed to for changing these products i suggest getting a manual like chiltons, from canadian tire or most auto parts dealers

Power steering making noise

check if you have power steering fluid in the canister, If you have up to maximum you must check if the noise comes from the Power pump,if so ask a qualified mechanic to confirm and proceed either to repair or renew the part.

Power steering went out on my 2005 Mitsubishi Galant. Not sure if its my power steering pump or rack and pinion. Resevoir has good fluid level. Steering is hard to turn left or right before steering went...

sorry but only a good local mechanic can assist you. this type problem needs HANDS ON work . pumps are not the only problem with steering . it could also be in the mechanical linkage

Knocking, chain sound?

From what your describing it sounds like it could possibly be a easy fixx...I am assuming that you have an auto trans... If not then this diagnoses is totally off... My guess is that your shift linkage is not set properly...Try moving gear shift through out all ranges( 1,2,D, etc...) if it will not show on shift indicator 1 when all the way down this indicates that you arenot fully ingaged in park either when it indicates you are... Its like your in between park and reverse which sounds like when you were a kid and use to put a playing card on frame of bicycle so it contacted each spoke when riding... If you are not afraid of the task of adjustment it is not that difficult...Purchase a manuel and do it according to instruction or have it done at a trusted mechanic of your choice... I hope that this helped you...Good Luck!!!!

Where is the cam sensor located on a 1994 olds cutlass cerias

with a 3.1 liter , remove and install directions are remove serpentine belt , remove power steering pump assembly , then remove sensor harness , sensor bolt , remove sensor , so it sounds like behind the power steering pump assembly area if that makes sense . it has to be real close the the cam gear , you should be able to find it .
