I have the same problem and I am afraid that I will be bound to replace a heater. I don't know the price of a new part yet, however, a second-hand one is quite cheap (around $20). Naturally, someone has to replace this, because I am not familiar to car fixing. It's additional money, then.

Thanks for a reply. Finally it appeared that the problem lays in the alternator, not in the heater. Nevertheless, as I mentioned before heater was not working and that deluded me somehow. After replacing an alternator everything came back to normal. By the way, I replaced both belts (alternator and wedge belt).

You will have to pull the dash out off the car to fix the heater core witch is a very big and expensive job you will also have to keep an eye on the coolant level as it will be very low if the heater is not working.
your best bet if you have no money is to loop the heater hoses in the engine bay around onto them selves to complete the circuit and then fill up the cooling system.
this will not fix the heater but it will stop you blowing a head gasket and not being able to drive your car.
good luck

One of two things has happened. Either your coolant has gotten really low (easy enough to check) or you heater core is starting to plug up.

Mazda323f 1990.heater working bad,and to feet blouing cold air.how to fix.

The heater core can be stopped up or thier might not be enought coolant in the system as it has to be full for the heater to heat. The engine also has to warm up so if the therromstate were opening too much and the engine does'nt warm up the water will be too cold and the heat won't work. Remove the heater hoses at the motor conections and blow them though If they are Ok they'll blow though real easy. The cars cooling system does'nt blow very hard and is stopped up real easy. Blowing though with a garden hose reconnect and refill with antifreeze and your good to go. If it does'nt have enough antifrezze it could be frozen and the ice won't cicculate. If this has happened you may need to put the car in a garage to warm it up drain the light antifreeze coolant and put in good coolant withthe right amount of antifreeze.

Sounds like the flap valve in your vent system that allows air to go to the defrosters is either jammed or broken. Unfortunately you will have to take the vent system apart to look.

The air flow is controlled by an actuator behind the dash. The part is sometimes called the heater control box. When you are selecting the air flow to change from the a/c controller. The signal is not being received to the actuator. The actuator is called the blend door.
You need to have the air /blend door actuator change. I think in this car is the air recirculation door. Same thing different name .

Good luck
