Question about 1994 Ford Thunderbird
So, when the lights are all turned off, the brakes lights come on dimly, but when the light get turned on, the lights com on very bright like and when the brake pedal is stepped on, the brake lights don't come on.
It is going to be a ground issue. I would start by testing the brake switch. The way the brake lights come on is by pushing the pedal it makes a ground that completes the circuit. The problem you have is the ground is ocurring someplace else. I would recommend if you are mechanically inclined that you get a wiring schematic for the vehicle and trace the grounding wire for that circuit.
