1990 Dodge Dakota Will not charge

I have a 1990 Dodge Dakota that will not charge the battery. Have repalaced the battery and the altenator. any ideas?

You have a break in one of the wires what does the charge level read check your ground and also check for corrosion any wher

I have a 1990 Dodge Dakota. i replaced battery,altenator,plugs,wires,starter,distributor cap and rotor,pick up coil,and the egr valve but the ttruck wont start any suggestions?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. I would look at the timing belt/chain. Have you ruled out the fuel pump, fuel system? May be the computer.

I changed the altenator but still won't charge. I was told to change the computer but don't know where it is or how hard it is to change

I would check all ground wires. Especially the one from battery. If your not getn a complete circuit it wont charge

It sounds like you have a major compent shorted out somewhere. Some thing is causing a discharge. Therefore your altenator is not responding and the car is draining the battery. Is the circuit between the altenator and the battery broken?? Also, you may need to check all the chassis grounds. Sometimes all your problems can stem from just a bad ground.

the altenator isn't putting out enough volts. it needs to be putting out atleast 13 volts or better. maybe the altenator isnt' putting out enough volts to operate the sytstem to it's full capacity. i suggest getting a new altenator.
