You'll want to make sure that all the air spaces have been removed from the coolant system. Sometimes you have to add coolant thru the upper radiator hose.

What also works is to install a prestone flush kit. It will allow you to run water under pressure to the entire system.

My montero keeps overheating. I put a new

These newer engines and air lock when changing the thermostat. Somewhere in the thermostat housing you should see some kind of a plug. You need to do this while engine is cool. Take the cap off the radiator. Remove the plug. You should get air out of the system. Keep letting air out as you put more coolant if needed. When all the air is gone put the plug back in and top off the radiator and you should be good to go.

I had the same on a customers car, 5 years and $$$ in a dealer later I was given a shot, the factory mis fitted a manifold gasket and it was sucking in air, I used a length of screenwash pipe to listen under the inlet manifold and found it.

I took my toyota camry 1992 v6 to change coolant and now it is over heating. I took it to the mechanic and he said it is not the water pump. After I change the coolant, the heat did not want to come out....

It sounds to me that your car is likely air locked. Your Camry may have an air bleed on it, some of the newer cars do. Either way what you can try is to loosen the radiator cap to the safety position (where you have to push down to remove it) and run the car normally for a day or two making sure you keep the radiator and the overflow bucket topped up. I know it's getting warm but keep the heater turned on so that water will flow through the whole system and flush out the air. After a couple of days top the rad up again and close the cap tight. You should be good . It is possible that your thermostat may need changing too, but I'd try this first.

hi, check the rubber hose between the air box and the inlet manifold, it may be cracked causing it to draw in hot air from the engine bay! temp fix it by taping it up with elec. tape, otherwise you;ll have to replace it, hope this helps, steg

2001 chevrolet pickup v6 overheating after changing waterpump

If you are not getting heat now, it's because you have an air lock in the system. sometimes it can be difficult to burp the system. try turning the heater on high in the defrost position. run your vehicle with the rad cap off and keep the engine running at about 1500 rpm. That should give the waterpump enough momentom to purge the air through the engine. check around the heater hose area and around the thermostat area for any bleeder screws ( sometimes these vehicles will have 2 or 3 for ease of purging the air). hope this helps and if you need any other info please don't hesitate to write.
