Replacing the catalytic converter on 2002 GMC Yukon

I've removed the old catalytic converter and the after market one in all respects appears to be correct however I can not get it in. Do I have to remove the torsion bar or oil pan?

    Thanks for the input.

Actually I needed to support the transmission and drop the transmission support member by removing (4) bolts. The new CatCon was a piece of cake to install after that. Just didn't know that was the way to do it at the time.

From LustyKid:

What may appear to be correct, can actually be INCORRECT. If you removed without touching the other two components, you definitely have the WRONG ONE.

Personally, I have never heard of having to remove torsion bars or oil pans to replace catalic conv.
If still in doubt. Let MIDAS do the job. Save yourself aggrevation. Unless you are really handy which you appear to be since you were able to remove it. Installing would be the reverse, provided you have the correct part. Suggest you take your vin number next time to the place where you bought it, they should be able to give you the correct one. If not, replace with OEM. Aftermarkets sometimes cause vehicle to fail emissions test. Goooooooooood Luck!

How much to replace a catalytic converter on a 2003 yukon denali

I would estimate the part is about 200. Usually there is about a 75 dollar fee for installation. Muffler shop would be keeping old one as part of price.

Exhaust issue

Most likely the heat shield has corroded off and is just sitting on top of the muffler or Catalytic converter. Regardless you can remove the shield and still run the the Xterra without any problems, the OEM muffler came with a heat shield as to the after market mufflers don't have one. The Catalytic converter also has a shield and you can remove it also as the Xterra has a heat shield on the floor board it self. Most exhaust shop if honest will tell you to just remove the rattling shield if there is no exhaust leaks or no Check engine light on that monitor's the Catalytic converter's performance.
A muffler shop if shady may advise you to replace the Catalytic converter and that can go for up to and beyond $400.00, so as long as there is no leaks or check engine light on. Go right ahead and remove the rattling shield.

Looking for all four o2 sensor positon

You should have an O2 sensor on each side of the exhaust down pipe, (diver's and passenger side) have one just before the catalytic converter and one after the catalytic converter. That's all the four O2 sensors the Yukon has.
