I drove the car last night and when i tried to start it this morning there was nothing the radio works the lights work and the heater works it is a diesel and all the lights go out when the key is turned to position 1 but when i turn the key to position 2 nothing it does'nt even make a sound can anyone help please any suggestions would be appreciated thanks
Would need to see it ,sorry but ford focus is showing for model and these earlier ones have a starter solonoid in the fuse board and its possible this has failed but dont ask me which one look in the manual and find it then test for current to the relay in case the switch on the back of the ignition lock has failed ,doesnt happen very often with the fords unlike a VW .But ? i have known the relay to fail on this model quite a few times .also check for the small wire that goes to starter motor ,its easy to do on a focus as the starter motor is at the front
SOURCE: 2005 ford taurus. Remote entry wont work theft light keeps blinking when key is engaged
HI, I'm reading your problem,
Let me explain something about your car.
2005 Ford Taurus, The key on that car has Chip inside of the key and receiver on the ignition switch,
Check if the key you are trying to use is Black and has a plastic head.
If not you need a key with that characteristics.
But if you have the right key, Remenber if you had drop on the floor, or hit with something,
Because some times they come damaged, with insignificat thins.
Remenber if you left the key close to a magnets like speakers.
If nothing aply at your case, you need to call a place Aloha Smith, they have the computer to program or reprogarm your key. IF not you can't start your car.
OK.. I hope this information work for you.
Thank's for submit yous question on fixya.com
SOURCE: 2005 Ford Escape Won't Start...
Have the battery charged and retested also have alternator tested , If that's bad the batter will not charge and drain it again .. Good luck
SOURCE: 1998 Ford Explorer completely dead
If you don't have any electric functions working I would have to say that the battery is dead. Where the lights left on last night or a door open? You can take the battery out and take it to your local auto parts store and they can test it for you to make sure it's not dead and if it's not, then you can have them charge it for you. Let me know if you need anything else.
SOURCE: radio, clock and interior lights don't work. all fuses are good.
For all those who have a situation where the interior courtesy lamps and radio don't work in a ford contour: After dozens of uncomfortable minutes checking fuses under the hood and under the dash I realized the problem wasn't the fuzes but instead it was the courtesy lamp relay in my 2000 ford contour. A $6 part from O' Reilly's (R6026 or V09174) and voila! Interior lights are on and I can finally get that Disturbed disk out of the CD player. It was real fun contorting my body into positions not intended for any human to access the fuse panel under the dash (just above where your left leg would be when driving). Best of luck to all. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
