Question about 1991 Buick Park Avenue

Car trouble The other day the car was running alright and then when i went to get in the car for the evening about 5:30 pm. it would start up but wouldn't stay started unless i kept my foot on the gas and when i kept my foot on the gas it would sputter kind of like there was something in there. could really use some advice because only have one car and hardly no money.

Clogged fuel filter or cat convertor. replace fuel filter 1st

I'm going to suggest one of two things. Firstly, I would say have your alternator looked at. The alternator recharges your battery when the vehicle is running,but if it is on the last leg of it's life, it can actually work too hard and drain your battery, especially during short drives. You may also just check and see if the battery has in fact lost all of it's power. Crazy things happen!

After you get the truck started disconect you battery cable and see if the truck continuse to run. if it dies you are having a problem with the charging system. make sure dont have any interior lighs left on.

Have the battery tested, it sounds like it went dead or went open inside overnight. Autozone and others test batteries for free.

Remove the negative battery cable. Otherwise, it's going to run down your battery.

99 Suburban wont start


I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 1999 GMC YUKON WITH THE 5.7 ENGINE HAVING TO JUMP START ALL THE TIME TO GET IT RUNNING, THE PROBLEM WITH MINE WAS THE FUEL PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED, EVEN WHEN I REMOVED THE PUMP AND TURNED THE KEY FUEL PUMPED OUT BUT WAS NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE TO GET AND KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING.I ALSO TRIED STARTER FLUID, THE ENGINE WOULD RUN UNTIL THE FLUID BURNED OFF.SO THE SOLUTION FOR MY TRUCK WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND NOW ITS STARTING LIKE A CHAMP
