My 2002 Safari GMC mini van's fan (the blower for the AC, Heater, defroster) works sometimes but not all the time. When it works, it works well. When it does't work, then I have ice to clear! Any help? Thanks.

Here is how to find out if blower motor is bad, locate blower motor under hood at firewall passenger side. Remove wire from blower. Get a length of wire long enough to reach from battery to blower. strip both ends of wire about an inch. attach one end to positive side of battery touch other end to blower motor terminal. This will spark a bit when touched. If motor doesent run and you are sure both ends are connected replace the motor about 45 bucks at auto zone.

Got a1996 gmc safari when i turn on the heater the fuse blows... its a 20 amp

The resistor is not the likely candidate for a fuse problem. There is either a short in the electrical wiring to the blower motor, or the blower motor itself is faulty, causing the fuse to blow. Disconnect the blower motor from the circuit and try turning it on. If the fuse doesn't blow, it's probably the motor.

I have a 98 gmc safari and the blower motor is making a horrible sound. how do you change it without destroying the dashboard?

The blower motor is changed from under the hood, remove the coolant overflow tank and cut the insulation from around the blower motor then remove the 5 clips from the blower motor and the disconnect the wires. Remove the blower motor.

Blower motor in gmc safari will not activate

I had this problem in a s10 blazer, it ended up being a badly corroded ground wire that actually connected to the blower at one of the mounting screws.
