Question about 1998 Ford Explorer
I recently moved some furniture everything worked well. The next time I went to open the rear hatch it would not open, even after unlocking the car multiple times. The window glass still opens and works fine. I am an extreme novice and hope this isnt a severely complicated problem.
I also have an 98 ford explorer my rear hatch does the same the way i sometimes can open it is by holding down the unlock button to open it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't how can i fix this problem?

The back side of the handle shears off from the latch actuator rod assembly. The handle has to be replaced. The interior panel can be removed to access the latch actuator rods. Can see them dangling. Pull them towards each other and the lift gate will open.
