Having problems with the manual transmission. First off reverse does not work at all. Does not want to even budge. Next thing I noticed was I am able to shift into any gear without pressing the clutch (car turned off) but the biggest concern / problem is with the gears. The transmission can shift into all gears; 1-5. But it’s what happens after I shift gears. I shift into 1st gears, and then the shifter goes right into the middle like if I put it into neutral. The gears do not slip, nor does it pop out of gear or anything. But I am sure that’s it supposed to stay in the certain area it is in (1st gear the upper left corner, not the middle) I am thinking of replacing the clutch and the transmission, and I have had a few say I might have to do something with the gearbox to get reverse working again. Do I have to replace everything, or is it just a certain thing? Maybe low clutch fluid? Maybe some bad seals?

Those are indicators for a fault in your Emission Control System. There are a lot of things that can cause them to appear but the most common is actually a code you haven't mentioned. The O2 Sensor under the driver side of the vehicle. If your looking for a book on the vehicle Auto Zone sells a Haynes Manual for the vehicle. I recommend you use that book and have them look at the codes with a code reader. Also have the Gas cap checked for leaks. A vacum leak on the fuel system can cause this fault to appear. If the gas cap is good I would replace the O2 Downstream sensor, It is located just forward of the catalatyct converter on the driver side under the vehicle.

Hi.I think the problem will be the linkage between the shift lever and the actual transmision'
Could be as simple as a connecting pin has fallen out
So therefore the car is still in park and won`t roll
Hope i have been of some help
