Question about 1999 Volkswagen Passat
I started my 1999 Passat this morning and have no headlights, no wipers, no heat, and no blinkers. Fortunately, the seat warmer works.
Does your horn work? If not, I had the same problem... It was a faulty ignition switch. Believe it or not...

Check the fuses. Open the Drivers door. It is on the side of the dashboard. It is a piece of plastic that looks like a 13" letter B. It snaps off. The card inside should tell you what is what. Look for broken, blackened fuses. If found replace with Same Fuse Color/number. It is ok to put a lesser value fuse in place of a higher value. But not the other way around. 15a for a 20a is ok. NOT 20a for a 15a fuse. If you do switch to lesser value. Do so only as a temporary fix.
When you start your card do not roll the windows down at the same time. Especially if the AC is on.
This often causes fuses to blow.
