Question about 2000 Lexus RX 300
Woke up this morning to find my 03 Lexus RX making a fast clicking noise which seems to be coming from the fuse box under the hood directly to the right and back of the battery.
The security light is flashing erratically on the console and the car won't start. The battery is dead, I assume from clicking all night.
Any suggestions on how to fix or what the problem might be?
Thanks for your help
there are a few diodes in the electrical system that have been blown. Some are in the dash and some are in the different control modules in the car. Your insurance should pay for this problem.

SOURCE: all dash warning lights came
You're alternator has gone bad and the vehicle was running on battery power. The "clicking" sound is your now dead battery that does not have enough power to turn over the starter. You might also want to check your power steering pump for leak. This is a know problem with early LS400s and will most likey be the cause of the alternator failure. I just dropped $1050.00 to fix the very same promblems you have.

Sure the culprit is in the HVAC system. The cover under the glove box needes to be removed to look and see theres a relay panel and motors that move the air doors inside the duct work the motors are on the out side and can be diffacult to change so even if your going to hire the work done it might be nice to look first so you'll know if your talking to a person that should do this work for you Quizzing the professional sales person at your local auto parts store you'll find the person that they know that buys the parts that fix these things if he buys lots of this kind of part that shop is likly to have a person that can go right to it and fix it cheap and quicker than someone puzzeling over the repair manuel and trying difference things with your money
