How do i reduce or control fuel consumption in nissan pathfinder

Make sure it has a good tune-up. Also, the type of tires on the vehicle will sometimes alter fuel consumption. Drive smoothly and consistently. Avoid accelerating and stopping quickly. Certain fuel additives may also help.

What is the solution to excessive fuel consumption of my 1999 Toyota Corolla

A serviced and correctly timed engine should return decent fuel consumption if driven properly regardless of age. Obviously that return depends on certain conditions. A gentle right foot avoiding harsh acceleration and braking always helps as does where you are driving, busy stop start town traffic and frequent short journeys will reduce efficiency.
So, things to check:
  • Oil and filter change
  • Air filter
  • Tyres at correct pressure
  • Spark plugs, leads, coils condition
  • Fuel leaks
You will never get near the advertised consumption figures as these are recorded under ideal test conditions and I have never encountered them whilst I am driving, but you should be within 10-20% of that figure if driven conservatively.

How can i reduce fuel consumption of my 97 suzuki vitara?

Here is the best solution to reduce fuel consumption and make your car fuel efficient, i have invented an Electronic Fuel Enhancer, this device can be fixed with MAP sencor and manualy adjust the fuel , Emission must be at CO ( carbon mono oxide): 0.00 %, Hydro carbon: 100 ppm or less, CO2 ( carbon dioxide) 14/15 % , if CO level goes beyond 0.5 up to 5 % thus device can reduce it up to 0.00 % , this means your car is fuel efficient now,

My 2009 Rio Kia Automatic consumes fuel at 6 km/liter city driving. What could be done to uplift the milage to the standard 26miles/gallon as what the KIA dealer said that this car could achieved. If you...

That 6km/L is about 17mpg in Canadian imperial gallons. You'll only achieve the 'optimal' 26 mpg (~9.1km/L) figure IF:
1) your car is well tuned/maintained, and
2) you're mostly cruising at around 80 kmph on a level highway with no headwind, and
3) you drive VERY 'conservatively' when in city traffic

As far as tuning/maintenance you'll want to ensure that your air filter isn't dirty and your plugs, emission & ignition systems (including sensors) are all functioning properly. You should also use the 'regular' grade of gas as recommended by the manufacturer. Using a higher grade ('hi-octane') or ethanol blended fuel will reduce both performance and mileage. Adding a premium aftermarket lubricant (like DuraLube, Slick 50, or a similar product) to the oil at each oil change will also help increase your mileage, reduce engine wear, and make for easier cold-weather starts.

When driving exclusively in stop-and-go city traffic you can expect to achieve a MUCH lower than that optimal 'dealer' figure.. perhaps in the vicinity of 20 mpg. Fuel consumption also depends to a large extent on how fast you accelerate. Keeping a 'light foot' on the gas pedal while avoiding too many unnecessary stops or rapid energy-robbing decelerations will also get you a lot farther for your dollar.

What are the possible reasons for high fuel consumption?

a low cylinder will cause a reduction in fuel economy. also in the winter months many states oxygenate thier fuel, it helps with emmisions but reduces economy. higher octane fuel usually has less feul economy, drop to the mid grade
